Peter Jacops, a specialist CE inspector for the certification of yachts, posted a small note on his Facebook page asking If any designer would be willing to help him create a low cost sailing boat specifically for disabled people and make it freely available to all. We are collecting material costing data from all the SV14 build around the world in order to have a good idea of what an SV14 cost exactly. At the moment our estimate for the materials used on the prototype is less than 3000 Euros. This material figure represents the boat in it’s most basic configuration which is 1 sail, 1 crew, fixed seat, steering by continuous line and clear varnished exterior.
