Kingdom of Wilis: Foggy Vermont Morning – Sycamore Stories
http://sycamorestories.com/2015/08/04/kingdom-of-wilis-foggy-vermont-morning
August 4, 2015. Kingdom of Wilis: Foggy Vermont Morning. Foolish enough to venture into the forest late at night risks meeting his death at the hands of the wilis, who will dance him into his grave (ergo, ballet). The wilis disappear at dawn’s first light, which happens near the end of the second act in the ballet. The woods outside our door this morning reminded me of that scene. Plenty of fog, but not a wili in sight. What does THIS button do? Auto Mode: Thou Art Weighed…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
March 2015 – Sycamore Stories
http://sycamorestories.com/2015/03
March 29, 2015. Vermont Spring Sunday: Modern Sugar House. March 22, 2015. March 22, 2015. Spring is about renewal, right? It all started with a shower curtain. Well, actually a shower curtain mishap a few weeks ago, which got me thinking about replacing the shower curtain rings. Thence to the liner–we really could use a new liner. One thought led to another and I soon found myself wondering, What’s a groovy, designer shower curtain go for these days? And do the nice ones ever go on sale? I know, right?
Closing a Chapter – Sycamore Stories

July 5, 2015. So much when I was living there, as they undermined our work in the vegetable garden. Still, I will remember them fondly. So one chapter closes, and another life-affirming chapter opens. The 3rd of July: Cycling on the Battenkill. Bedlam Farm Takeaways: The Katz Effect. 2 thoughts on “ Closing a Chapter. What does THIS button do? – Sycamore Stories
http://sycamorestories.com/2015/08/02/what-does-this-button-do
August 2, 2015. What does THIS button do? I was smitten from the get-go. Some day I’d love to own an Ansel Adams; the chances are slim to none. At the epicenter of the ballet world, and ultimately brought that world right to my doorstep in Knoxville, Tennessee. And I kept on writing and writing through all of that. And then everything fell apart. There is so much to learn. I keep hearing language from a movie, not sure which, possibly. Focused on learning here. (See what I did there? Fill in your details...

July 21, 2016. By Life With Horace. Once home directly to the woods. Downhill into the shadowed green. Ecstatic dogs all tails and lopes. They move from spot to spot. Datamining smells and sounds. And leave their marks. Feet silent on the needle drop. My harmony almost restored. Ankles softly kissed by ferns. A shortling to celebrate the gift of having woods to lift the day off my shoulders. May 5, 2016. By Life With Horace. In the daily flow of green. To full on spring. As bud fists loosen grips. By Lif...

Friday, March 1. My sister and BIL have an orchard behind their house. We took a stroll through it. The fruits that grow there are so different than what grows here in the Pacific NW. An orchard here could have apples, pears, cherries, peaches, plums. Have a look at what is found in Hawaii -. From Top to bottom:. Avocado tree (my dream! Bananas (love the huge purple blossom) Dried banana leaves are fun, Meyer lemon, papaya tree, macadamia nuts on the tree, mac nut from the ground, guava, open guava.

Sycamore Stories | chronicles of a Southern expat living in Vermont
Chronicles of a Southern expat living in Vermont. August 16, 2015. I love the theatre lobby, house, backstage, on the stage it does not matter. I have clocked time there since before I could walk. Friday night I had the chance to be there again at the small and mighty Paramount in Rutland, Vermont. A quirky and entertaining NYC-based company called Bedlam was reading a new play by one Tony Award winning Steven Sater (. On VPR and suggested it. Was written expressly for New Yorkers, as he had grown up in ...
