Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Who moved my cheese? You may be wondering why my posts have been less frequent than Boeing orders. Recently. It's because I have quit my job and become a samurai. Of or relating to cake. Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Sayonara・左様なら . . ? Last year was a treasure that I won't soon forget, and though I'm far away from Kimotsuki now, it will stay in my heart as my first home in Japan. To see again the friends I made there (both Japanese and otherwise) will be a cherished wish and, I hope, one soon and often realized. PS I'll be keeping a blog. Of my New York exploits for my Japanese friends, if you're interested! Je prépare aussi un nouveau blog, principalement pour mes amis et élèves japonais...

Friday, June 26, 2009. Gabe and I had a wonderful night together with Kyoko, Shin-chan, and his parents. Kyoko and Shin-chan are expecting a bouncing baby girl, and together with seeing me off, it was a celebration of their new parenthood. Needless to say, this gigantic bottle of 日本酒 (sake) was gone in 2 hours. 2 comments - Click here to leave one! Of or relating to 日本酒、よくほえる、チーム上村. Wednesday, April 29, 2009. La méditation en plein air. On Saturday, I went to the Kanoya Rose Garden with Yuki. It's famous across Japan, and is liable to be absolutely stuffed during Golden Week. 160;It was the first day of their Rose Festival, though, and there weren't too many people around. Thanks, Yuki! In the meantime, isn't this an endearing video? 2 comments - Click here to leave one! Of or relating to golden calculator. Monday, April 27, 2009. I am back in Japan and boy are my arms tired!

Friday, May 29, 2009. Kappa-tei ~ 河童亭. Yet another fantastic night with incredibly welcoming friends. Absurdly lucky- that's me. Minamimagari-sensei's wife Shunko invited me to a gathering of her side of the family in Kanoya that were back in town from all over Japan, from the islands in the south to Hiroshima. The get-together was held at a restaurant run by Shunko-san's brother (he's the guy singing below). Or River Imp Tavern (it sounds better in Japanese). Kappas are mischievous. Subscribe to: Po...

Saturday, July 4, 2009. Happy Fourth of July! Check back for a much more patriotic post once I'm done with the JLPT tomorrow. Fingers crossed! Of or relating to jigsaw. July 4, 2009 at 1:21 AM. The overfishing of tuna all over the world is tragic. I hope a real tuna-farming (as opposed to catching young wild tuna and sequestering them in net corrals for feeding) method is developed soon, so I can go back to enjoying this delicious fish. Keep on with the adventures! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
