Harold Lamb's Swords from the Desert. From one of the masters of adventure fiction. Robin Forsythe's The Pleasure Cruise Mystery. 1933) - a reasonably entertaining detective tale that benefits from its shipboard setting. H C McNeile's Temple Tower. 1929) - another fine Bulldog Drummond thriller. Dick Donovan: The Glasgow Detective.

I often think that, much as I wouldn't want to be, I've become inured, at least to some degree, to the acts which people will perpetrate upon each other in the name not only of power, but of abstract ideology.
