There are 55 ambulance stations in Tasmania, of which 41 use volunteers. Are staffed solely by volunteers, with paramedic backup provided if required. In larger communities volunteers remain at the station when on duty; in smaller communities they often respond from home or work. Are staffed by a permanent officer and volunteers. These stations tend to be in regional towns; volunteers remain at the station when on duty. 5 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Are staff by permanent officers only.
