Taughannock Falls State Park. The park is located about 8 miles North from Ithaca or 4 miles South from Trumansburg along Route 89. From the New York State Thruway, take Exit 41 to 318 East for 4 miles. Head South on Route 89 for 35 miles. The Park is open 365 days a year from dawn to dusk with camping from Mid April thru Mid October. The Rim trail closes in winter. Swimming is available only in designated life guarded area. Picnic areas have tables and fireplaces. There is a concession stand.

Hiking and Nature Trails -. The park asks that you stay on designated trails, areas of the Rim trail can be dangerous. Note: the rim trail is closed during the winter months. The main entrance to the trails can be found just off the parking lot on the opposite side of Route 89 from Cayuga Lake. The Multi-Purpose Trails are open in the Winter for hiking and cross-country skiing. For a map of the trails (click your browser's back buton to return).

We met with Andrea, the community outreach coordinator, who told us about marsh restoration at the refuge. She also taught us about invasive species managment.
