PARADISE: One more step closer...
http://tastrong.blogspot.com/2014/03/one-more-step-closer.html
Saturday, March 22, 2014. One more step closer. We are one step closer to FINALLY having our kitchen done. Remember these gems? I was so happy to have an open kitchen when the wall came down and the tile was finished. Then I was just sick to death of the UGLY color on our cabinets. So last October I decided to do it myself. I did them white with a black glaze. We then made the island bigger and FINALLY got the counter top for it. Spring is coming so it is off to the back yard. View my complete profile.

Friday, September 30, 2011. Pottery Barn Side Table Makeover. I had my first experience with my new shipment of the highly-anticipated, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. And it was a success! Here is a picture of the piece in progress. This is what the piece looked like during the first application of Annie Sloan's Country Gray. I will provide a more detailed product review in an upcoming post, but first, I wanted to share the finished product with you. I just love how the Pottery Barn side tables turned out.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012. Luca's Updated Book Shelf. November and December always seem to fly by. If you have been following my blog, you may have noticed it has been a little light on the DIY. I neglected to post my latest revamp. It was a small project, but a MUCH needed upgrade. I have been in the process of slowly cleaning out the unnecessary clutter in preparation for the new year. Each time I think of throwing something away or passing it off to Goodwill, I ask myself the following questions:.

Thursday, June 26, 2008. Captain Kangaroo or Wrigley the Dog? This post is really for Tiffany my EX neighbor. Although all animal lovers might enjoy it. Wrigley is obsessed with water and can't get enough of the hose. He even likes to get a bath as long as it is outside and with the hose. ENJOY! Wednesday, June 25, 2008. As our title states we have been keeping busy making this place our own. I have planted some flowers and Troy got his surround sound all set up. Tuesday, June 17, 2008. GOOD BYE OLD HOUSE.

Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Cooking has more of a slow outcome that I love. So this month I have been exploring my Italian side. I made Lasagna last week and this week I make Fettuccine Alfredo w/shrimp. I have been looking for a good (from scratch) Alfredo recipe for ever and I think I have finally found it. I would love to share the recipe with you all but then when you come to visit me what will I "WOW" you with, Ramen? I don't think so. If anyone wants to throw a recipe my way.I am all for it.).

PARADISE
http://tastrong.blogspot.com/2012/02/when-we-bought-our-house-there-was.html
Thursday, February 9, 2012. When we bought our house there was an office with cute french doors right next to the kitchen. As cute at the office was, it made the kitchen super small. We decided to take the wall down and rip up the ugly linoleum in the kitchen. We then built a small mud room, and then tiled the entire area. How amazing is that? Wow, I love before and after shots and I love big open areas. WELL DONE! February 14, 2012 at 7:43 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Monday, March 12, 2012. I am super excited to be back in the blogosphere, sharing my latest makeover. I am saddened that I started working on this and forgot to snap before pictures. Ugghh. I get so excited to dive into these projects, that I am midway through and realize."snap! I forgot to take pictures! I did, however, catch the most important parts midway through. If we could all just use our imaginations a little bit, we could save so many things from their ultimate peril. A designer's dream client i...

Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Understanding Color and Using Paint to Bring Life to Your Space. Such as orange and blue - lie directly opposite one another on the color wheel. When paired with one another, each color is intensified. For the most successful use of complementary colors, it is best to use the colors in unequal proportions. For example, a steel blue room receives a needed burst of warmth when paired with bright orange accents. Since black and white. Are technically not colors - black is the ab...

Friday, July 29, 2011. Accessorizing 101: Fireplace Mantel. I had a request from one of my readers, (shout out to Angie! When I think of formal fireplace arrangements, I think of symmetry. For example a large statement piece in the center such as a mirror or a large piece of artwork, flanked with candles or topiaries. I love this fireplace example from Martha Stewart. It's simple and elegant, and the greenery gives it a touch of asymmetry to an otherwise symmetrical display. I used to place everything sy...
