teaching the littles

Thursday, July 9, 2015. I have switched schools and grades since I last blogged over here on my corner of the internet. I am now teaching first grade at a small private school in Chicago. I love it! 2015-16 will be my second year teaching there. It is truly my dream job. I am enjoying every minute of my lazy, slow-paced summer. My birthday was last week, and my wonderful husband gifted me with this lovely bag. I just love it! I am joining the Blog Hoppin'. Sunday, November 3, 2013. I didn't realize when ...

teaching the littles: Jack Hartmann Freebie

http://teachingthelittles.blogspot.com/2013/03/jack-hartmann-freebie.html

Sunday, March 10, 2013. We love Jack Hartmann in my classroom! I wanted to start singing his song "Echo the Letter Sounds" from the CD "Get on Board the Transition Train". I knew my littles would need a visual, though. Kids need pictures to keep track of where they are in the song and what will come next. So I made these letter and picture cards to help them out. I hope you love them! Click on the picture below to download your copy! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow this blog with bloglovin.

teaching the littles: Letter or Number?

http://teachingthelittles.blogspot.com/2013/08/letter-or-number.html

Thursday, August 29, 2013. Last year, I made a letter/number sort freebie around Thanksgiving time. Thanksgiving is really my favorite holiday, so it's no surprise that I made a freebie to celebrate. Almost right away, I had a request on TpT to make more sorts with other themes. Of course, I said, "Sure! I am totally inspired to make many more sorts! Differentiating between letters and numbers is one of those skills that we take for granted. Some littles have a really hard time with this.

Monday, November 26, 2012. Check out my latest packet! I know that not everyone will be able to use it, but I work at a private school and we get to talk about Jesus' birth all year long. I hope it is helpful to you if you get to do the same! Here's a little something for everyone, though! Hide these little gingerbread boys around your classroom for a fun number recognition activity. Click on the picture to download! Saturday, November 24, 2012. Are you ready for Cyber Monday? Wednesday, November 21, 2012.

Life as a Preschool Director: No longer a Director

Life as a Preschool Director. Thursday, September 5, 2013. No longer a Director. Well, this post has been a long-time coming. I doubt anyone is even out there. Oh well. I was excited about all of the changes! It was a crazy time, but it was exciting and we all knew good things were going to happen. Obviously, I am only sharing a tiny bit of w...

teachingthemhim | A Journey of fun family nights that teach Christ to our boys

A Journey of fun family nights that teach Christ to our boys. July 26, 2012. I gotta admit, we’ve been a little lax about family night during the summer. Sometimes family night turns in to “Hey, let’s go to the pool! 8221; but I think that’s okay. John came up with great ideas, but they were outside activities. Since it’s been over a 100 degrees for…ever, those will have to wait. But I saw this great sign on Facebook. Which led me to this website. Oh well, learning to share and take turns is Biblical, too.
