Better LEARNING better LEADERS better TEACHERS better CHANGE better SCHOOLS. Bringing More Google to Schools. April 15, 2014. I believe in “Google” schools. I want more schools to be “Google” schools. When I think of a “Google” school, I am thinking beyond the world of Apps for Education. Rather, I want my school and the schools of my children, to be filled with educators who would be equally at home working at Google. The first is “smarts”. They actively seek out people who will take control of a situat...

Notes from a Laptop. November 21, 2008. Thinking inside the box- SimplyBox. Filed under: Web 2.0. 8212; Lindajay @ 1:40 pm. A relatively new Web 2.0 tool is known as SimplyBox. It provides the facilities to collect snippets from web pages (like Window Vista snip tool), provide links back to these (like Delicious) and enable sharing of details, pictures and links with friends and colleagues (like One-Note, Flickr, Facebook, etc.). So it has many tools in one application. Collect your quotes and reference ...

Is the Dancing Librarian a Web 2.0er? Maybe!: Thing 21

Thursday, August 6, 2009. My mantra continues - I hope that worked! I really enjoyed making that video. Would that be called a podcast? Or, would I have to do it another way for it to be considered a podcast? Either way, I can see great potential in the library! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thursday, August 6, 2009. Yea - almost finished! I had hoped that this wouldn't take me the entire summer to complete. You know what they say about best-laid plans. 1 I enjoyed exploring, but sometimes the reading and the website-hopping just took too long. I do like understanding RSS feeds, Nings, rollyo, and delicious. I've used delicious in my summer school class already! 3 Delicious and Ning were pleasant surprises. I see myself using those regularly. 6 Overwhelming, but worth it! The Bookwoman's Las...

Monday, July 20, 2009. I like this social bookmarking thing! Last year it annoyed me when I had bookmarked a site on one computer, then had to show it on another. Delicious sounds like it would help immensely. I'm not really a fan of Digg. It seems more like a blog than a place to bookmark websites. I'm having a brain-lapse! I immediately thought "COOL! Can you please refresh my memory? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Is the Dancing Librarian a Web 2.0er? Betrayal, by John Lescroart. Thing 10, part 2.

Thursday, August 6, 2009. Just created a Ning: GIGgals. The members of my weekly bible study, nicknamed "GIG", endure a slew of emails each week as we communicate about our particular study, who's bringing what to eat, where we're meeting, who's sick, etc. Currently, I am not at home and do not have access to my address book. However, tomorrow when I invite the gang, I truly believe that this Ning will help us! Right now, I'm on the "love" portion of the love/hate relationship! Betrayal, by John Lescroart.

Sunday, August 2, 2009. These are interesting tools. I'm not sure I'd use them on a regular basis because I already have Microsoft Office, but it's good to know that I have the option if I ever needed it. While exploring, it seemed that OpenOffice had more options than Google Docs did. However, it occurred to me that I might just have to add shortcuts for "cut," "paste," and the like in Google Docs. Would my students be able to use this for occasional assignments? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
