The five countries challenge. Thursday, 23 April 2009. On Friday 17th April, John and I set off to spend the night in Lochgilphead with Jenny and Colin before the four of us took the ferry the following day to Arran. The forecast was fair so we were all looking forward to our adventure. As we were sitting on the ferry on Saturday morning we were planning our first stop (thinking of our stomachs! Only to find the shop was shut when we got to it! Well I hope I'm more fit to do the Malawi Bike Ride as I fel...

The five countries challenge: Carbisdale Castle

http://thefivecountrieschallenge.blogspot.com/2009/03/carbisdale-castle.html

The five countries challenge. Friday, 13 March 2009. On the weekend of 7th and 8th March a team of hardy cyclists set out from Inverness to cycle to Carbisdale Castle, spend the night there and return the following morning. The forecast was reasonable so Saturday saw us meeting at the Palace Hotel to set off around 9am (Bruce time). We did have some rain and when we got to the top of the Struie, though a fabulous view awaited us, we couldn't really see it at its best! We stopped at Tomich Cafe, thawed ou...

The five countries challenge. Wednesday, 24 September 2008. Warm Welcome's in Inverness. Today Mileage miles 35 ∑Total to date 849 miles. We left the hospitality of Margaret and Gordon at Thistle Dubh B and B after exchanging pleasantries with a fellow resident, a chap on holiday from North Carolina who was on something called a Haggis Bus Tour. The Five Corners Quintet - Home

The Five Corners Quintet. The Five Corners Quintet is a Helsinki-based jazz outfit that updates the past with panache. By whatever standards they are judged, The Five Corners Quintet are a class act. Without dumbing down or selling out they have moved jazz out of the dark ages by delivering on Kallio's original idea of grooving jazz played in the classic modernistic spirit and underpinned with contemporary club rhythms. Stuart Nicholson, The Observer.

The Crandall Family

Saturday, June 04, 2011. Mary, Mary Quite Contrary. . . . . We have been talking about redoing our front flowerbeds for two or three years now. This year we decided to finally do something about it. I don't have a true before picture, because I don't have a picture of all the old plants, but they had taken over the front and we couldn't even see out the front window. So we pulled them out one weekend and this is what it looked like:. We really like it and look forward to the plants growing and filling in.
