Welcome to the Forgotten Legacy Website. The mission of this website is threefold: To strengthen the bond and fellowship between the descendants of Black soldiers who fought for the Union during the Civil war, share information between all interested historians, authors and Civil War buffs to make sure the story of these soldiers is properly told and create a dialogue between all descendants of Civil War soldiers and sailors so as to gain a better insight of the realities of that time period.
