Lauantai 4. joulukuuta 2010. Leikataan niin usein, että nurmi näyttää hoidetulta (yleensä kerran viikossa). Nurmen sopiva leikkuukorkeus on 4-5 cm, mutta varo leikkaamasta kerralla enempää kuin yksi kolmasosa ruohon korkeudesta. Ruoho elpyy hitaasti jos sitä on leikattu liikaa. Leikkaa nurmikko viimeistään kun nurmen pituus on 10 cm. Jos leikkaat nurmen liian lyhyeksi se voi kellastua ja harveta. Ruohonleikkurin terien on oltava terävät. Sunnuntai 14. marraskuuta 2010. Ennen kylvöä nurmikon pinta on tiivistettävä ja sen on oltava tasainen. Kasvualusta on riittävän tiivis kun askeleen jälki näkyy mutta kenkä ei uppoa kasvualustaan. Riittävä tiivistys estää kasvulaustan painumisen myöhemmin. Tiivistys tapahtuu parhaiten nurmikkojyrällä, jossa on metalliverkosta tehty jyrä ja painona esim kiviä 60-100 kg. Myös vesi- ja hiekkatäytteiset umpijyrät ovat käyttäkelpoisia. Aluetta jyrätään ristiin rastiin ja tasataan aina väli...Siirtonurmikolle ...
