Tracy Today: 03/01/2006 - 04/01/2006
http://tracytoday.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
What happens in and around Tracy, California, U.S.A. Friday, March 31, 2006. I started back from Sunnyvale at around 3:45 yesterday, and was home in Tracy at about 5:30. We stopped only once, between Dublin and Livermore. There was no jam at northbound 880 after the merge from 237. I bypassed Sunol in the right lane as usual. Weird, really. Where were all the cars? Also, I looked at the parking lot at around 3, when the carpool lanes start. The lot, jammed solid at 11, was almost empty! BART trains were ...

What happens in and around Tracy, California, U.S.A. Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Wednesday is a day for Farmer's Market. It seems smallish this year. There were no corn and no cantelope. Posted by ザイツェヴ at 18:35. The so-called Japanese Fast Food. This time, they were out of pork for some reason. Tough times. But on the other hand, they started to give chopsticks. Ain't it nice or what? Posted by ザイツェヴ at 09:38. Invasion of Chinese Buffets, addendum. Posted by ザイツェヴ at 09:33. Tracy does not offer a whole lo...

What happens in and around Tracy, California, U.S.A. Monday, February 27, 2006. There were strong winds and umbrella-breaking hail (literally) in San Francisco today. I'm sure local farmers are not going to be happy should we get those clouds around here. I saw how hail-breaking rockets work in wine-making areas of Ukraine, it's quite interesting. I wonder if we have something like that deployed nearby. Posted by ザイツェヴ at 20:39. Sunday, February 26, 2006. TRASH @West: Garden Waste. I have to buy gravel o...

ceralvor: Dis-appreciation of an Appreciating Currency
http://ceralvor.blogspot.com/2006/11/dis-appreciation-of-appreciating.html
Blogtime for Robert Ceralvo is a developing hobby. It used to be his glugtime. Monday, November 13, 2006. Dis-appreciation of an Appreciating Currency. Wednesday, January 11, 2006. Borrowed from http:/ theignatianperspective.blogspot.com/. An Improved Philippine Peso. After the short-term: An improved exchange rate will gradually (and hopefully not very long) translate to lower prices of utilities, commodities and many other day-to-day needs that the OFW family regularly purchases and consumes. As such, ...

Rational Choice: February 2008
http://rationalchoice.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Economic development, without the fancy stuff. Sunday, February 10, 2008. The Philippine Government is now tightening the screws on direct hiring of Filipino overseas workers (i.e. not hired through licensed recruitment agencies). Read the details here. And in the links referred. You'd wonder why the "beneficiaries" of protection are so enraged by these new regulations. Remember the saying? Never attribute to malice what can be equally due to stupidity." Well in this case I think it's both.

Rational Choice: Economy year ender
http://rationalchoice.blogspot.com/2007/12/economy-year-ender.html
Economic development, without the fancy stuff. Thursday, December 27, 2007. Collapse of the Doha round. Again: The Doha development round stalls, over as usual over OECD farm subsidies and market access. The US, EU, India, and Brazil remain at loggerheads. But I betcha the rest are just hiding behind the behemoths , waiting to throw up dust again whenever a settlement approaches. Climate change and what the world is doing about it. The US economy flounders on the subprime crisis. Let's see. Oh, and t...
