Simply Melville-lous: Guard your Marriages
http://jonathanandliz.blogspot.com/2015/07/guard-your-marriages.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Marriage is a lifetime commitment between spouses to continually rediscover each other. Nearly five years into marriage, I am starting to understand that. As I've talked with more people about marriage, I've realized that marriages fail because couples enter into the institution with some incorrect and dangerous assumptions. For Jonathan and me, the first year of marriage wasn't the hardest — it was the easiest! How do you know when to get married then? Elisabeth Elliot, the famou...

Simply Melville-lous: Cheap, cheap
http://jonathanandliz.blogspot.com/2015/08/cheap-cheap.html
Friday, August 14, 2015. Nora's been hanging out with some cool chicks lately! Yes, our chickens are finally here. And in about 6 months this family will be enjoying fresh eggs! Sorry the pictures aren't better. I imagined a photo shoot with Nora outside, but I forget these chickees don't quite stand a chance yet in the great outdoors. Don't worry, I'm sure this won't be the last you've seen of our newest little loves. August 14, 2015 at 5:10 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). In the fullness of time.

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. When we meet discouragement. However, I will try to continue blogging as I'm able (I'm presently blogging on a borrowed laptop! Today, I was supposed to be at the monastery in Conyers spending the day in quiet reflection with the Lord. I was looking forward to praying my way through a long list of things and spending time in the Word. I was going to post some serene picture, like this:. Then she read the devotional for July 28 in My Utmost for His Highest. Tuesday, July 21, 2015.

Simply Melville-lous: January 2015
http://jonathanandliz.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 25, 2015. After the holidays, my weight was in an upward trend while my health was in a downward trend. I'm sure I'm not alone — maybe my dryer really did shrink my jeans? Let me tell you, though, gluten, processed foods, sugar and refined carbohydrates are not my friends. At my low point, I fainted after church when my blood sugar plummeted. Jonathan revived me with milk and peanut butter. It was a blood sugar roller coaster there for a while, though. First rule of motherhood is simple, ...

Simply Melville-lous: August 2015
http://jonathanandliz.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 21, 2015. In the fullness of time. A frequent question I get: When will Nora get a sibling? Q It's been over a year, how do you remain hopeful? Some days are better than others. Baby fever can be overwhelming. But I know our family isn't complete. One way or the other — though I have an overwhelming peace that this is God's plan and that Nora won't be our last biological child. Doubt sometimes creeps in and makes everything cloudy. I can't help but remember and be comforted by the Biblical...

Simply Melville-lous: September 2014
http://jonathanandliz.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 13, 2014. A few months ago I salvaged some old palettes from the school where I work. They had a lot of character and charm and so I decided to release my inner Pinterest and make two wine racks. Once I sawed them in half and constructed the basic wine racks (I'm too impatient to explain all that—see Pinterest! Here's what the wood looked like before I began:. Lookie, here I am using my new electric sander that my father-in-law, Rick, got me! Action photo compliments hubby.). Now I've...

Simply Melville-lous: Flown the Coop!
http://jonathanandliz.blogspot.com/2015/07/flown-coop.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Guys, I've felt convicted that I guest blogged for a church friend recently when I've been neglecting my own blog! If you didn't catch that blog, check it out here! When last I left you, I was happily exploring the world of homesteading. Since then I had setbacks with mono (4 months of it! And a nasty finger injury. Oh, and I also escaped to Seaside, FL for a week with my wonderful family! I'm happy to report that I'm all-round healing. But we paid for them, we get to name them (...

Simply Melville-lous: December 2014
http://jonathanandliz.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. I've recently been practicing the art of eucharisteo living — a Greek word taken from Luke 22:19 that basically means giving God thanks for all. The blessings in your life (especially the small, often overlooked ones). It's a practice that requires being fully weighed down and present in every moment. And, trust me, it does take practice. This way of life is explored thoroughly in Ann Voskamp's, "1000 Gifts: A Dare to Life Fully Right Where you Are.". 2 warm waking coffee.
