Sunday, 04 September 2016. The Really Interesting Tent Company Ltd. North Star - Polaris. For many years I have been toying with the idea of making a small yurt for Children. My work with schools has highlighted the fact that kids really enjoy yurts and the space that they create, stimulating their imaginations and creativity. Materials used are exactly the same as for full sized yurts - I don't like the idea that something made for children will in some way be of lower quality than the grown-ups version.

Based on the Mongolian Yurt (or Ger), my Yurts are constructed from clear treated timber (Redwood) and 2oz Poly Cotton canvas. This is Rot Proofed and Fire Retardant, and is Waterproofed to a Hydrostatic Head of 60cm. Our yurts come in sizes from 10ft in diameter, up to, at present, 44ft, and can be used for a multitude of purposes! They provide an excellent space to stay, entertain, work, or to just chill out in!

Welcome to Tipi.co.uk. My fascination with tipis started in the late 1990's, when a friend came back from Spain having spent some time in tipis in Andalusia. A friend he met out there offered to make him one if he bought the canvas, and so, for the cost of the materials and a bottle of vodka to cover the labour, he had a tipi sewn up.
