what passes for sane on a crazy day: December 2011
http://whatpassesforsaneonacrazyday.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
What passes for sane on a crazy day. Notes from the edge. Thursday, December 15, 2011. The one where we adopt a code word. We have a few of those. Me: Do we have to go? Mike: I think it's expected. Me: But I don't wanna. Me: Okay, so how about that day I'll stand on the porch steps and you push me off, necessitating a trip to the ER, thus giving us the perfect excuse for not being there? Mike: You're kidding, right? Mike: I'm pretty sure that's not a good idea. Me: How about "ur mom"? Mike: Because I'm p...

What passes for sane on a crazy day. Notes from the edge. Monday, August 19, 2013. The one where some things come to an end. There's also a good chance that I'll be making a book with many of the posts from this blog. So, if you would, I'd be really happy if you'd tell me what your all time favorite post was, so I can be sure to include it. Again, thanks so much! And please come check out and follow the other blog so we don't lose each other! August 20, 2013 at 6:55 AM. September 25, 2013 at 4:48 PM.

Keeping My Eyes on the Road: April 2015
http://keepingmyeyesontheroad.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Keeping My Eyes on the Road. Causes We Care About. Friday, April 3, 2015. Walk Your Own Path. I stressed endlessly after their diagnoses. Scoured the internet for hours upon hours intoxicated by my need for information. Read every book on the subject I could find. Educated myself on sensory diets and pinned endless numbers of sensory activities and bins. Made myself sick with worry over it. So I threw the labels out the window and we are simply just the Horn Family. This is just how we roll. 3 When the w...

Picture Day, Mateys! | The Lumberjack's Wife
https://thelumberjackswife.wordpress.com/2010/09/13/picture-day-mateys
The Lumberjack's Wife. Never Eat Sour Watermelon. Fat Tuesday, Lame edition. →. September 13, 2010 · 5:25 pm. Picture Day, Mateys! On Saturday, we took the kids for their annual photo session with their cousins. This is all my mother’s doing, and I suspect it is all part of her evil plan to get my husband inside a mall at least once a year. Other things Lumberjacks despise: paying for photographs, driving minivans, diet soda, dull chainsaw blades, mushrooms, and heating with gas heat. I recall, now!

Daphne and Donald: January 2010
http://daphneanddonald.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 28, 2010. Last week, Donald arrived home from his job-away-from-home after a very long week. His parents were going out that night, so I was making dinner and I was excited to cook for my man again. It was going to be a night on our own and we were looking forward to it. The night crashed and burned. The entire evening really threw Donald off. I hadn't thought about what I wanted to say, which created a very confused conversation that was potentially very scary. I mean, what do ...We se...

Daphne and Donald: December 2009
http://daphneanddonald.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 30, 2009. I have returned from our holiday trip and I have generally good news to report! We had the traditional big Christmas morning breakfast and then visited with family friends for a large and celebratory Christmas dinner. It was there, while catching up with friends I hadn't seen in several years, that I clarified my understanding of my job and my career goals, a wonderful holiday gift to receive. Donald left two days before I did because he had to work (I am still so overjoyed ...

Your mark – leave it! Your mark – leave it! Our mark on Coco Beach, FL (not exactly long lasting.). I pick self conscious. Being hot’s a bitch. Think of this as your visible brown smudge, albeit one with a positive connotation, welcomed and admired by all – like Cindy Crawford’s facial mole (call it what you want, a mole’s a mole). Did you visit me? Can I stalk your blog back? So let me know you were here – tell me what you hated or liked or reminded you of that one time in second grade…. Thank you for t...

Keeping My Eyes on the Road: How to put your kids to bed in 15 easy steps.
http://keepingmyeyesontheroad.blogspot.com/2015/04/how-to-put-your-kids-to-bed-in-15-easy.html
Keeping My Eyes on the Road. Causes We Care About. Thursday, April 2, 2015. How to put your kids to bed in 15 easy steps. 1 Starting at 6:00, watch the clock and swear it moves slower than molasses. 2 At 6:05, check 3 other clocks to ensure that the one on the stove is indeed working. 4 Record yourself saying, "water stays in the bathtub." Play it on repeat. 7 Give the kids their jammies and tell them to go brush their teeth. 7 Go get another pair of jammies because those are "too scratchy". 10 Find toot...

Keeping My Eyes on the Road: Boobies
http://keepingmyeyesontheroad.blogspot.com/2012/10/boobies.html
Keeping My Eyes on the Road. Causes We Care About. Tuesday, October 16, 2012. In honor of breast cancer awareness month, I decided to write this post about boobies or bresticles, or tatas, or whatever you call them. I call mine thelma and louise. To each their own. And my preschooler is fascinated by titties. Probably because everywhere she looks there's a shirt, poster, or picture promoting some form of knocker awareness. As all you mommas know, there is no such thing as privacy when you're a parent.
