Monday, July 6, 2015. Adventure is Out There. So, in an effort to get the hell away from Lakeland, I took a ******* road trip. I had vague plans to drive up to Georgia for Six Flags adventures with a friend, but those unraveled about three weeks ago. When she couldn’t come, and I got my heart smushed (as happens maybe three or four times a year), I just decided to drive until I figured out my life, or until I ran out of week. Writer in Progress: A Stereotypical Morning

http://www.thethirdflower.blogspot.com/2014/03/a-stereotypical-morning.html

Sunday, March 2, 2014. In a Florida high school, first period bell rings at 7:11 am. Anyone familiar with the circadian rhythm of a high school student knows that given the choice, they wake up right around noon. Anyone familiar with my sleep schedule knows that I wake up naturally around 9am. My solution- coffee. Lots and lots of coffee, at regular intervals throughout the day. March 2, 2014 at 8:12 AM. I cant even imagine starting that early! March 2, 2014 at 8:42 AM. March 2, 2014 at 9:53 AM. I napped...

Tuesday, January 20, 2015. I was looking through old folders, and I found some items from a creative writing class I took a few years ago. From there, we tinkered until it kinda made sense to us. Remember the summer days and glasses of lemonade? Remember what we had, until a spider. Walked out on the web. After you lied, I started lying.

Sunday, July 7, 2013. My fear has teeth that sink deep in. My chest, burrowing into my heart. In the dark hours of the morning,. Imagined phone calls, deleted texts. All things I hope never see the dawn. Pushing the monsters into the corners. Of a too-small apartment, stuffing. The secrets into dresser drawers. Surrounded by socks and headbands. That are so rarely used, they have. A fine layer of dust around them. A halo raining on the discoverer. In the morning, pushing everything.

Saturday, March 22, 2014. I made it to spring break….I can’t believe I made it to spring break. Last night, I slept over twelve hours. Or, I guess it would be more accurate to say last night, this morning, and part of this afternoon, I slept over twelve hours. I love teaching. I love seeing the spark in someone’s eyes when they understand a new concept. I love having a student tell me that he built an ion engine, and then hand me a one page poem about his family. Monday, March 3, 2014. The structure of m...
