Monday, January 3, 2011. I won these fiberglass chimp greaves in an eBay auction from Studio Props. They were designed by Oscar-winner Colleen Atwood for Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes. These have clearly seen some action! Greaves are a piece of armour designed to protect the lower leg. These ones have some fantastic ape and bamboo designs on them. The inside is labeled "Keiffer." Dennis Keiffer. Was a stunt person on the film playing an ape. It's great to be able to match these to a performer!

Now as The Tim Burton Collection! Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The pre-order price is $44.99 which works out to about $6.50 per film. A bargain! There's no poster, no trailer- not even a teaser yet! I've only seen four images from the set:. It was reported yesterday by MTV that Burton is still editing and working on some visual effects for the film, but with only four months to the release date you'd think the studio would want to start hyping it up! And I loved her performance in that film!

The interior is decorated with period Victorian furnishings. There is a small bedroom decorated as it may have been when Montgomery was born there. One of the lots in particular caught my eye. Lot 292 is a set of armour for a female samurai! I didn't realize there had been female samurai so I did a little research. The auction also includes several examples of male samurai armour. The pieces are beautiful and terrifying! I wouldn't want to face any of them in battle!
