Aren't We All Just A Little Weird?

Aren't We All Just A Little Weird? Friday, November 21, 2008. Bringing Back The Past. I love trucks. I have owned, and currently own many trucks. Swimming around in my head nearly 24/7 are ideas of what I want to do with '67-79 Ford's and exhausting all of the possibilities of what I can do to the ones I own. The term original doesn't do this truck justice. However, “Quick Cleanup” turned out to be a whole different story… I’ll share that at a later date. After Minty was done, and I was officially beyond...

Aren't We All Just A Little Weird?: Party Time!

http://www.thetruckguy.blogspot.com/2008/10/party-time.html

Aren't We All Just A Little Weird? Sunday, November 2, 2008. The project was done, and I'm ready to call it quits for the winter on the truck. There are a number of small things that need to be done like a steering wheel horn pad, replace the front windshield gasket that isn't even close to fitting correctly and installing the stainless trim around it that should be there, along with a rear bumper and hooking up my reverse lights, but other than that. I got lucky- I got cake too. ;-).

Aren't We All Just A Little Weird?: Let's Tear Down!!!

http://www.thetruckguy.blogspot.com/2008/09/lets-tear-down.html

Aren't We All Just A Little Weird? Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Now I have to admit. I have about as much appreciation for a 1/2 ton, 2 wheel drive, automatic truck as stepping in fresh dog poop in summer. Aside from the color, this truck did nothing for me. Until I started taking it apart. I just kept thinking to myself what a crying shame it was that I was doing this. This thing was SO clean! Check out some of these photographs! Next came unhooking all the lines to the cab and everything bolted undern...

Aren't We All Just A Little Weird?: Any Day Can Be Arbor Day!

http://www.thetruckguy.blogspot.com/2008/09/arbor-day-can-be-any-day.html

Aren't We All Just A Little Weird? Friday, November 7, 2008. Any Day Can Be Arbor Day! I'm not sure whether nearly clear-cutting my 2 acre back yard has got me on a kick to plant some more trees again this year, or if it was the cute girl at Lowes tonight who was moving discounted saplings outside of the garden center that caught my eye. But one thing's for sure- I had to get a closer look. at the trees. :-). Tonight, much to my surprise, being drug out to the curb at throw-away prices of $9.98 each ...

Aren't We All Just A Little Weird?: Tying Up The Loose Ends

http://www.thetruckguy.blogspot.com/2008/10/tying-up-loose-ends.html

Aren't We All Just A Little Weird? Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Tying Up The Loose Ends. I took the next couple of nights off. Work continued to be hell, and I wasn't going to put myself through another arduous evening like I had on the gas gauge and wiring. As luck would have it, last Friday evening the sun was shining, the weather was warm, and I was ready to have a little fun with the small, simple things left to do on Jack. Being rubber, it absolutely flopped into place without having to work it at all!

Lost in Arkansas: Garden 2011

http://lostinarkansas.blogspot.com/2011/02/garden-2011.html

The adventures of a native Missourian gone South. Tuesday, February 08, 2011. May I present.*drumroll*. my NEW garden. Ok, it's not so impressive right now. Obviously I have a mountain of work to do, building beds and getting the dirt actually into them, as well as all the other tasks that come with having a garden - planting, mulching, weeding, canning. But it's a start. However, I seem to be afflicted with some kind of instinctive and irresistible urge to plant and grow things. View my complete profile.

The adventures of a native Missourian gone South. Thursday, April 29, 2010. I still find it ironic that we can get uber-fast DSL service at our old home in the middle of nowhere Ozarks, yet nothing at our new home in our particular part of the city. But never fear - you can't keep a blabby blogger down for long, and I'll update whenever possible. Just please don't desert me as I desperately cling to sanity. Thursday, April 22, 2010. With a family too witty and sarcastic for their own good, the smart-alec...

Maybe that's more accurate. It's still only February, which is usually my least favorite month. Still, it's a very important month for garden prep, especially when one is starting a raised-bed garden from scratch. So here goes. My eventual goal is eight beds, but I'll be happy if I get four built this year. Happier if...

The adventures of a native Missourian gone South. Thursday, June 24, 2010. Amos will do a pretty good brake job for Friskies. Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Wasn't it just last week that we were griping about the bitter cold and unusual amount of snow? If the trend continues, we may be in for a long miserable summer. I'm already missing being in close proximity to the lake. Tomato growers, be on the lookout:. Tuesday, June 15, 2010. House and Mouse Wars. And I yelled, "EW! The adventures of a native Missourian gone South. Thursday, May 27, 2010. If You Give A Girl A Paintbrush. Nearly everyone has to be familiar with the kid's book, "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie", the ingenious story where if you give the mouse a cookie he'll likely want a glass of milk to go with it, which progresses to the mouse cleaning the whole house (where can I get a mouse like that? I must admit, it now looks darn good - everything is new, crisp, and clean. Tuesday, May 25, 2010. They make a delici...

Lost in Arkansas: December 2010

http://lostinarkansas.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

The adventures of a native Missourian gone South. Monday, December 27, 2010. It's time once again for my totally unqualified, totally random movie review. And I wanted to see it, too. I was a fan of the John Wayne version as a kid, as well as the follow up, "Rooster Cogburn", and I'd heard surprisingly good things about the remake. Of course, upon my discussion of the film with hubby, I had to voice a few complaints. Was no exception, as the folks behind us not only insisted on talking, but narrating&#46...

The adventures of a native Missourian gone South. Friday, January 07, 2011. Christmas is now well behind us, but I'm still very excited about one of my gifts. Like seemingly bazillions of other avid readers, I was ecstatic to see that Santa brought me an Amazon Kindle. Who would've thought that the most popular e-reader wouldn't be compatible with digital library books? I probably should've done better research. In the meantime, while I wait for a solution, I'm sill enjoying the books I've purchased on m...
