Marching Through History in Miniature. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. National Gallery of Art. Last week I was in the other Washington (Washington D.C., that is) for Georgetown's Commencement. Besides commencement and scheduled White House and Capitol Hill tours, I had time to revisit a few of the fantastic National Museums. Always a favorite for me is a stop at the National Gallery of Art. A few pieces always draw my attention and the Dutch Master's collection is not to be missed. May 20, 2015 at 1:45 PM.

Palouse Wargaming Journal: June 2015
http://palousewargamingjournal.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Marching Through History in Miniature. Battle of San Martino, 1859. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. When I struck out on this blogging endeavor I call the Palouse Wargaming Journal. Approaching three years ago, I really knew not what to expect. My initial objective was to create a place to which I could log and archive my hobby activities. Would anyone else find my work interesting or mildly entertaining? Could I make a small contribution to the body of wargaming? Again, I knew not. What do I know now? I submit ...

Palouse Wargaming Journal: Peruvian Highlands - Pisac
http://palousewargamingjournal.blogspot.com/2015/07/peruvian-highlands-pisac.html
Marching Through History in Miniature. Battle of San Martino, 1859. Friday, July 24, 2015. Peruvian Highlands - Pisac. Upon arrival at Cusco airport, our Bed and Breakfast in Pisac had arranged for a taxi to pick up our group and baggage up and take us to Pisac about 20 miles away. What we did not know was that the road from Cusco to Pisac was narrow, windy, and that our driver had aspirations for driving F1! Pisac viewed from the B&B along the unpaved trail. Bed and Breakfast main house. After a good ni...

Little lead men of valour: January 2015

Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Saturday, January 3, 2015. A resolution for the New Year. Following on from fellow club members James Wright's and Brendan Day's painting tally (painted versus purchased) for last year I decided to do an accurate stocktake of how far I am in the red. It is probably a bad idea to actually work out the size of the lead mountain but in the words of Sun Tzu "Know your enemy! Victorian London buildings for EOTD/IHMN. WWII 15mm buildings for Crossfire/CoC.

Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Sunday, September 25, 2011. English Civil War - Battle of Cheriton Nunawading Wargames Open Day 2011. It has been several months since my last post but I have not been idle I can assure you. Work commitments have prevented any posts to this blog but on the plus side I travelled to Europe for work training in Germany and managed a short holiday in the UK on the way. First off the list was our club's annual public open day and myself and fellow NWA'er Tom w...

Little lead men of valour: January 2012

Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Sunday, January 1, 2012. New Years gaming resolutions 2012. Another year has passed and after the hang over's and ringing ears have passed it is time to look ahead to the coming wargamming year. Looking back on 2011 I have largely stayed true to my initial plans. I have finally painted enough English Civil War stuff to start playing some games. I also continued painting my World War II 15mm crossfire armies. So what am I planning for the New Year. So that...

Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Monday, June 16, 2014. Hordes of the Things (HOTT) Undead army. In the next few posts I will put up pictures of a collection of armies I have had for quite a while that fall into the Fantasy genre. Pretty soon I was drawn to historical gaming and all my wargaming efforts went into those pursuits. Somewhere along the way I sold my dwarves and my Skeleton Army box set sat in my cupboard waiting for its time to shine. Lastly every army needs to have a strong...
