We’re a family with six adopted boys. Adoption has been a part of our lives for the last 7 years. We started the journey out of desperation. During the journey our desperation turned to conviction. This site tells stories. They are the stories of our journey. We love sharing this journey with anyone who wants to hear and we’d love to hear yours too! Click on a boy for his story. I stumbled on the verse In Zechariah “Return to your fortress, O prisoners of Hope; even now I announce that I will resto...

Friday, August 24, 2012. So just a quick post tonight to let everyone know we've landed in GZ and everybody is doing fine. Its going to be an early night tonight as we were all up at 6am. The trip through the airports went very smooth. Roo did very well on the flight. It was only 2 hours but he handled it great. He spent half of the time watching a dvd that our guide gave us. Tomorrow is the medical exams which can always be eventful. Hopefully it will just be a formality but you never know. Waiting for ...

In a Land Far, Far Away...: October 2011
http://journeytohotdog.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 31, 2011. She quickly handed her to me and then backed away. For a moment Sprout looked stunned and then the grief started. She tried so hard not to cry but the tears poured down her face. I held her close and rocked her but felt so helpless as I was unable to comfort her. But it was Chipmunk to the rescue! A few minutes later we were led out of the office and about thirty minutes later we were dropped off at our hotel. That was it. She was ours! I think she is going to be quite the chara...

In a Land Far, Far Away...: September 2011
http://journeytohotdog.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 1, 2011. A Birthday for Pudding. In all of the LOA excitement, I failed to mention that Pudding's birthday was last week too. It was quite a week for celebration at our house! We had a big party for him last year on his 3rd birthday (the first birthday he celebrated with us), so we kept it low-key this year.well, as low-key as things get around here. Yes, Stu signed up the Littles for soccer in the U4 league this fall. I was a little hesitant at first; after all, they are just thr...

The Mischlers: November 2009
http://themischlers.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 24, 2009. This coming Monday marks a day, two years ago, when our world changed forever. A routine ultrasound would show massive problems with the baby I was carrying. At the time, we were told she would not survive to birth; we would have to consider termination. From that Monday until our appointment with the specialist Wednesday morning, I tried to focus my mind on the one fact that held me together: one of my four children would be with Jesus, secure in Heaven forever. How to bless ...

In a Land Far, Far Away...: February 2011
http://journeytohotdog.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 28, 2011. I meant to post this Friday (the 25th) but life got in the way. Pudding is constantly demonstrating how inept my child-proofing efforts are; of course, I'm not sure that even Fort Knox is Pudding-proofed. He can find trouble anywhere he goes and leaves a trail of disaster in his wake. I had no idea how much joy this little boy would bring to our family.and I wouldn't change one single second of the past year. I can't wait to see the coming year brings our family. I can't even i...
