Writing one poem a day until the weather gets cold. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Glad You're Moving In. Perched on a stool,. Gargoyle over Paris, my love. As fine in a red shirt. As on a cold night. Those two arms can sink. The ships of my heart. The drowning of stars. This part, my heart,. Played by a ukulele orchestra. With toes, not fingers. By a master craftsman. And sold at auction. I outbid, I did. A lake stretched out. Under the iron of July heat. Under the surface is. Tell it plain -. The Day MJ Died.

The Eternal Student: It's like a child's laundry...we don't really have a word for it

http://eternalstudent.blogspot.com/2013/08/its-like-childs-laundrywe-dont-really.html

Saturday, August 10, 2013. It's like a child's laundry.we don't really have a word for it. Those are cheap-o Ikea roller shades, but they look pretty good! Just be careful to roll them up straight! I knew the room should stay blue. First, check out the floor! Can you see how shiny and perfect it is? Second, my cousin's wife, Allison, helped me to paint the dresser during an epic family work weekend at the house. The book to the right is "My First Notre Dame Words" sitting next to a pair of Notre Dame...

Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Summer CSA Dinner #1. Box week one arrived today! Dessert was sliced strawberries (CSA) and cream, and a small dish of Katies Korner dark chocolate peanut butter. I think the summer eating is going to be pretty good around here! Tomorrow I'm turning the rhubarb into a rhubarb. We have four bags of greens (someone took extra cilantro and left their greens when David's back was turned! And an extra bunch of rhubarb cause someone doesn't like it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Eternal Student: Diaper Mama

http://eternalstudent.blogspot.com/2013/08/diaper-mama.html

Sunday, August 11, 2013. My awesome Mom found us EIGHT cloth diapers/covers at a consignment sale. Super nice ones, too! I used to spend my hours comparing flight prices to Italy. Now I compare diaper prices on Craigslist. This too shall pass, she sighed. How many are you aiming for, Marianne, and how many do you have? In the olden days, I had somewhere around 5 dzn, and washed them close to once a week. YB has a bit over 20, and seems to wash them about every 3rd day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

My student was asking for a bit of help with the essays for the midterm exam following class today. She's a very good student- diligent, bright, gives solid interpretations of the dramas we're studying. I love my drama students- their traumas and struggles. Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Uncle Jeff Would Be Proud. I really outdid myself today at Thrifty Threads. Since we had the recent heat wave, I've cleared out all sweaters and winter clothing from the dressers in order to assess where the needs lie for summer clothing. Is it just because one (by "one" I mean "Italian girls") sweats so much and changes shirts more often (and goes to the pool and gets clothes soaked in pool water), that the wardrobe needs in the summer are greater? Next to it, are no fewer than ...

Books, Theatre, Film, Music. Since I spend my time consuming all of these forms of entertainment, maybe I'll regurgitate some opinions from time to time on this page. Jonathan and Strange and Mr. Norrel. I'm about 150 pages into and it's mildly entertaining. I don't know why I can't enjoy fiction anymore. I blame my dissertation. It has killed my poetic soul. Christian, not perfect. Flawed, yet saved. Trusting in grace, not works. Faithful, not blind. Discerning, not judgemental. Still growing, still learning. A human waiting to be perfected. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Do you ever think about the people you "idolized" before you came to Christ? Do you remember why it is that you did consider yourself a fan of those people? Can you remember being a "teeny bopper" and deciding that you just had to somehow, someday meet your favorite singer? I always wonder if Chri...

Warnings from my waistband. It's been brought to my attention that I've been slacking on the blog front lately. What IS your problem girlie? Dunno I'm just not in the blogging, slimming zone. I've lost my mojo. I just couldn't give a toffee about slimming right now. Well it's not good enough Tubster. You know the pattern. You get grumpy about gaining weight, then you eat crap because you're grumpy about it, and before you know it the fat pants are out. Bugger. Thought no-one saw me. I'm on to you lady!
