Back in Krabi, after the island-hopping trip, I asked Esah if it looked like I had acquired a tan. She responded by rolling her eyes. When I came back to office the Monday following the weekend away, my colleagues all commented that it didn't look like I had any sun exposure at all - I barely darkened from my usual deathly pale pallor.
