Travels of a Broke Girl. A photography blog, inspired by travel. Places I’ve Been. How Do I Afford to Travel so Much? Many people have asked me how I afford to travel so much. It’s really quite simple! It’s like finding a job at home, only you do so in another country/state/place/whatever! I really love traveling this way. Especially being a lost puppy like myself, I get to explore different careers without investing too much, all while seeing the world. Not bad, eh? So this is what I have done so far:.

Start Over | Buried Thoughts

I feel ashamed of who I am. I no longer see any part of me that is purely good. What happens when I cannot see beyond my failures? What happens when I can’t forgive myself for my mistakes? This is what happens: I give up. My assessment of who I am is blighted…it’s destroyed by shameful things I’ve done and said. I don’t want to be who I am anymore. How do I erase the egregious mark I’ve made on my “life”. How do I become someone new? I don’t want this darkness to reside here, but I don’t know...I long...

I love Singapore and I’m super lucky that my cousin lives there as I certainly wouldn’t get to visit as often if she didn’t! We went for the weekend at the end of November 2016, flying with Singapore Airlines from Bangkok which takes around 2 hours, to go to Neon Lights Festival, which you can…. Down under for Christmas. I’m not going to blog…. If you follow me on In...

Travels of a Broke Girl. A photography blog, inspired by travel. Places I’ve Been. Dinner with Long Lost Relatives in Óbidos. August 14, 2015. After fumbling over who’s who to whom, we figured out that this lady, Nella, was my mother’s cousin, who happened to be visiting from Connecticut. This is what I love about small countries like Portugal; they’re so intimate, everyone knows everyone, and you can run into the most random people in seemingly impossible situations. Nella, accidentally double exposed.

Travels of a Commoner. Experiencing the world - or at least my small part of it - one minor diversion at a time . Aug 4, 2015. A commoner drinks at Curly’s Sports Bar and Grill, Decatur, Ill. There are dive bars, and then there are local institutions. After one visit to Curly’s Sports Bar and Grill on Decatur’s north end earlier this spring, I think I can safely say Curly’s is both. Travels of a Hipster
Travels of a Hipster. I’m in Copenhagen this weekend for #CopenhagenPride 😇 Excited about #MyGayPride and lots of rainbows and parties 🎉 (at Homoware). The day started with brunch at a French bakery, Wienercafeét. Gay pride is still important. It was a welcome break from other European gay pride festivals. But it’s a fun and friendly place to meet other people and get involved not just in LGBT rights and politics, but also enjoy some surprisingly fun parties. Even while the atmosphere during the march ...

Travels of a Dodo. Crazier and crazy year. Returning Fellows Conference. (Or, “Presentations and dance parties in the pacific northwest are hallmarks of a weekend well spent”). August 12, 2009. 2009 Seattle Tacoma Airport. 5:35pm. I’m waiting/napping/pondering by myself for five hours at the airport, after what was probably an unfortunate scheduling logistics thing. Shuttle at 12:30, flight at 6:30, such is life, I suppose. This weekend was beyond anything that I could have anticipated. Matthew Mohorovic...
