Tripped Up

Tuesday, November 28, 2006. I had never heard of the traveling salesman thing, but it makes sense. I like the idea of ants as traveling salesmen and how they instictively know, or figure out, the shortest route between not only a place but many places. If ants are leaving trails of pheromones along their paths, what are internet users leaving from site to site that allows us to use the same concept as the ants? What is bottom-up versus top-down. I understand the idea of each but examples would help.

Thursday, November 09, 2006. Today I am going to talk to you about something that I've lost touch with over the past 2 weeks or so. Relaxation. Re lax a tion. Abatement or relief from bodily or mental work, effort, application, etc. The tests and assignments I have had over the past couple weeks, along with other personal stresses has driven me to a place I haven't been yet this semester. Home. A house, apartment, or other shelter that is the usual residence of a person, family, or household.

Tripped Up: September 2006

http://tripped-up.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 29, 2006. So I email Scot in a desparate plea to help me but of course, as I should have been, he was probably considering sleep as a very viable option at that moment. It worked. Sooooooo relieved. Now it is just after 8am and I am very much awake (quite disturbing) and had nothing to do, so I thought I would actually do that optional assignment and blog. Posted by Suzy's Randomness @ 6:00 AM. Monday, September 25, 2006. The idea that we cant move forward with a new advancement as a so...

http://tripped-up.blogspot.com/2006/11/competition-have-you-ever-wondered.html

Sunday, November 19, 2006. Have you ever wondered what it is about winning and losing that really changes a person? Maybe it is not just winning and losing but the concept of success. In sports, people usually do not get as heated over a scrimmage as they would a regular game and then once a championship is in grasp, competition starts to boil over. What makes one person more competitive than another? Does an uncompetitve person not care about the outcome, or just does not let the win or lose effect them?

Sunday, November 12, 2006. With this particular session, I don't feel as though I learned a lot of new things, but rather, how to do old things more easily or in a different way. I would be interested to see what Dreamweaver 3 would be like, but I'm not sure I'll have time this semester. Posted by Suzy's Randomness @ 9:02 PM. View my complete profile. Sunday, October 29, 2006. To be perfectly honest, I had trouble understanding both of this week’s readings. Even after our discussion, I left feeling perplexed. Naturally, I’m not sure which reading to write about. Anyways here it goes. Eenie meenie miney moe. Catch the tiger by the toe. If he hollers let him go. Eenie meenie miney moe. Monday, September 25, 2006. Meg Hourihan on Weblogs. Meg Hourihan’s article on weblogging was very interesting, I thought. As I was reading, however, it was unclear to me who she was writing this article for. So I think her main purpose was to inform those that were uniformed, mainly the media, because she was tired of hearing about what they thought blogs were. Posted by Brittany @ 8:00 PM. Friday, December 08, 2006. On Tuesday evening I attended the Dreamweaver 1 tutorial presented at College Library. Having already learned a lot about Dreamweaver through English 201 much of the class was repeat. It was helpful to relearn it since it had been awhile since we talked about the processes in English. There were quite a few new things that they presented as well. This was especially helpful because I had not started my final webpage yet and it gave me some new ideas. It is a great tool to use.

It seems that many emergent systems do have feedback systems, but I don’t know if it is a requirement in order to be one or not. Posted by Christy @ 11:25 PM. Tuesday, November 21, 2006. The slime mold example seems to fit that, however, I am unsure if that is just a special occurrence. I had another question after looking back over the reading. They cluster together and exchange information through sugars, salts, proteins, etc. to multiply and gain form. Just after these early examples I can see how present emergent systems are in my world. The way cities form, a tree grows, or political/ideological movements are all examples of constantly evolving entities being swayed by their parts, both inner and environmental. I found t...
