NGS: September 2011
http://nationalgridservice.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, 29 September 2011. It is the last day of All Hands. 2011 and it is my last day working for the NGS. After 4 years of general griddery, I'm moving on. Four years is a long time in research, and today's All Hands meeting at York is very different from the first grid event I attended, Open Grid Forum 20. I remember that the Manchester meeting was huge. And full of international delegates. The village turned out to be a very large display booth. To do with the technology itself. And it is those are...

Monday, 27 April 2015. The Big Filaprom With The Quark - 26th April. The seeing was not ideal, but there was still plenty of detail to see in the big filaprom that was snaked over the suns north eastern limb on sunday. This was taken with the Daystar Quark, Skywatcher ED80 and the Imaging Source DMK31 camera. Posted by Mark Townley. Monday, April 27, 2015. Solar Picture of the Day. Ha Full Disk 30th April. Monday, 27 April 2015. CaK Full Disk 26th April. Taken with the ED60 at 600mm focal length, there is more detail using the larger aperture scope,. but unfortunately is more susceptible to the effects of poor seeing in the individual panes that make up this mosaic. Thursday, 30 April 2015. Ha Full Disk 30th April. The sun is quiet, but is still picturesque, that filament looks like it it nearly stretching across the whole disk. Interesting that there has been a feature here on this part of the sun now for over 4 months. This image was taken with the DS40 at 560mm focal length with the DMK31 camera. Posted by Mark Townley.
