Ten years old and travelling across the sea. Hi My name is Emmett Michael Patrick Erickson and I am ten years old. I am in fith grade. I have been sailing since I was one year old. I like sailing because I get to do lots of fun stuff. I like playing on the beach because I always find new creatures in the water. I also like skipping rocks and driving the dinghy. The Erickson familys big adventure. Kathleen and Steve met in Seattle in 1994. (On Halloween night, of all things. He was dressed as a Viking, she as a Gypsy. Was the future being foretold even then? We were married 5 years later after moving to Waupaca, WI. A year after that, Emmett was born. We were drawn to the cruising lifestyle for a variety of reasons: closeness to nature, exploring new places and cultures, and living a lifestyle less materialistic and more in line with our environmental ethics.
