USC Online Teaching and Instructional Design: June 2011

http://uofsconlineteaching.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

USC Online Teaching and Instructional Design. Thursday, June 16, 2011. Effective Online Instruction (EOI) course 2011. To the future of higher education as we know it. In addition, these faculty "students" get to see what it is like to be an online learner. Or face that first hurdle? Are we able to retain them in the class? Or do they drift away never to be seen again except on our class rolls? How do we help students on all levels succeed? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Columbia, SC, United States.

Mainly, my dear mother was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma and passed away in April 2012. It has been very tough and extraneous things like this blog were put on the back burner during this time. But thought that I would try to get this started again. Let' see if this Voki snippet works. USC Online Teaching and Instructional Design: Summer has ended

http://uofsconlineteaching.blogspot.com/2011/08/summer-has-ended.html

USC Online Teaching and Instructional Design. Friday, August 19, 2011. It is really hard to believe that summer break (if you even had one) is over already. I met with my UNIV 101 freshman only this morning and they seem almost breathless in their anticipation of their new lives at the University of South Carolina. Their real adult lives symbolically start now and I wish them love and light in all of their endeavors. In addition, I wish for them the time to think. Are we equating productivity with speed?

The Google Art Project has been launched. http:/ www.googleartproject.com/. The Rise of Kindles, NookBooks and the Like. How often do you use it? Has it encouraged you to read even more? My main thought about this digital reading proliferation is that anything. That gets people to read more is a good thing. But are people really reading more now? Renee...
