Christmas in August | velvetpasture
https://velvetpasture.wordpress.com/2009/08/03/christmas-in-august
Stories and musings from a Sonoran desert homestead. August 3, 2009. Posted by ryan under musings. 8221; I let it go. Today I went back, suffering from non-buyer’s remorse since $200 off is a sweet deal and I had. So I sprang for it. Now I can cross-cut a 4×12! Not that I have the need to cross-cut a 4×12 right now, mind you, but I could if I wanted to and that’s important.🙂. I think my first task for it will be to build its own stand. The blade is amazing. It cuts hardwood smooth as glass.

The shed, as viewed from the south, with the pumphouse in the background. I forgot the camera until the last day of work, so there are no in-process pictures like there are for the pumphouse. These pictures are of how it is at present, and how it will be for a while yet. Thanks to Wifey’s dad for helping with the walls and roof. Thanks to Wifey for parting w...It seem...

Stories and musings from a Sonoran desert homestead. June 10, 2009. Crises Come in Threes. Posted by ryan under musings. Last week was rather eventful. There were three major crises, one after another. Things are a little more settled now. Ian is feeling much better, mommy is feeling much better (though still sleep-deprived), and Spaz is pooping (which is a great thing if you are a geriatric cat with a fractured pelvis). June 2, 2009. Another Change in Plans. Posted by ryan under homestead. It was a real...

Posted by ryan under environment. A friend recommended the sermon “Can Faith be Green”. From Pastor Tim Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. Me, Myself and Fashion
Tuesday, 9 June 2015. A YEAR ON. A YEAR OLDER. A YEAR WISER? How is it that I have completely forgotten about my blog? Nearly a year ago I created my 18th Birthday post, and for so long I thought that was the velvet passion finale. I'm outraged to say the least that my writing has been postponed for so long - since finishing my A Levels in July I have not even written a single syllable of creative writing. It seems stupid when I'm going to be studying English at University soon. Brighton University congr...
