We'll play at anything, for anyone, at (almost) any time. We do weddings, birthday parties, charity events, school and parents' evenings, fund-raisers and regular spots in local village halls. We have played in barns, marquees, ballrooms, inside and outside village halls, working men's clubs, hotels and castles. We want you to enjoy your event, so we have a variety of dances and mix them in sets that feel as though they go together. We very often start with simple dances so that people who are uncertain can become comfortable with a new medium. The caller walks you through and calls the dance as you do it. In the early dances you will be introduced to the vocabulary of dance and learn how to do a do-si-do, star or basket. This promotes enjoyment as you revisit moves later. Or less so, as in Trip to the Wall.

Music is the first consideration of the band and caller. A match of the music to the dances is, of course, important, as is a match of dances to participants. The members of the band are all dancers as well as musicians. In other words if we wouldn't, or couldn't dance to it, then it is no good for you! As many as five different tunes are used for each dance set. They have names like The Rollicking Irishman, Smash the Windows. How to book the band.

Our blend of strings, reeds and woodwind is common to many bands and provides balance and harmony.
