Getting Around Cape York. Skytrans flies to Bamaga from Monday to Friday from Cairns. Cairns to Horn Island. Getting Around Cape York. There is a range of options for accommodation in Cape York. Please make sure you book it as soon as possible (preferably before mid January), as July is the high tourist season and places get booked out very quickly! The options are below:. Approx 5 km from Bamaga (sealed road). Restaurant. Close to shops, close to wharf (fishing) and beach. Villa (6-7 people): $215 base(single) $30 per adult, $15 per child. Cottage (4 people): $205 base (single) $30 per adult, $15 per child.
