Thursday, September 14, 2006. Sept 8, 2006. The first week of school is complete and we have been busy. The students are learning a lot of routines and rituals that will help them succeed in second grade. We have started our Math journals and we have started Writer’s Workshop. We hope to begin Reader’s Workshop by the end of next week. The folders that the students bring home are to come home on Fridays. I had written Wednesday but I wanted you to know that you will see them every Friday.

Friday, September 29, 2006. We welcomed a new student (Nathan) this week. We have 18 students in our classroom. Homework started this week. Your child should be bringing a sheet home to complete in their homework notebook Monday through Thursday.
