Next Gen House – CSA
http://nextgenhouse.org/category/csa
Real Life CSA: spring, week 7. May 28, 2015. This week got away from me blog-wise, but the CSA is one constant. And as I write this, there’s ramp chimmichurri waiting to go on venison steaks and collard greens in a stock pot for dinner. Courtesy of the CSA. So let’s get to it! The apple butter might meet the same fate, since we already have one in the pantry. I’m going to consider it CSA outreach. Lettuce is going in the salad rotation, like usual. Always happy for that! Oats will make a good addition to...

Next Gen House – Real Life CSA: spring, week 5
http://nextgenhouse.org/2015/05/15/real-life-csa-spring-week-5
Real Life CSA: spring, week 5. May 15, 2015. One of my favorite CSA items of the whole year came this week – rhubarb! I am happy for lettuce again this week, the unsung regular hero of the CSA. Long gone are the days of bagged salad mixes in our house. We probably have the CSA to thank for that. The black beans will go in the pantry, though we’ll probably have to work through another bag this week since we’re getting a stockpile. Last time I made them to go with sofritas. The ironic part about getting rh...

Sheep Fest offered back to basics experiences
http://sheepfest.weatherburyfarm.com/Sheepfestbacktobasics.htm
Sheep Fest offered back to basics experiences. July 31, 2002. As reported by Lorraine Gregus, in The Almanac. Summer is such an enjoyable time. Festivals and concerts and all sorts of outdoor activities are available each week. With so much to pick from, there certainly is something for everyone. Continuing my search for a little education along with the fun, my husband Andy and I recently drove to Weatherbury Farm on the Avella countryside. Llamas, goats and ducks were also within reach of visitors.

http://shunpikersguide.blogspot.com/2010/07/road-to-meadows-16000-years-of-rock.html
Saturday, July 31, 2010. The road to The Meadows: 16,000 years of rock shelters, cherry pies, trolley cars, trail rides and a beloved father of harness racing. Our roadtrip begins 16,000 years ago, after a lovely winding ride along a very rural Route 50 toward the West Virginia border. We’re en route to the last homestead of local hero Delvin Miller. The archeologists tell us people have been coming to this spot called the Meadowcroft Rockshelter. For nigh on 16,000 years. (“It was like a Paleo...Even fo...
