Letters from the Waste Land

Letters from the Waste Land. Saturday, September 1, 2007. WE'RE GETTING A DOG! Ashlea and I have been in the dog-looking mood for a while, but only seriously started to go around and visit places last week. Today, we went back to the same shelter, where we walked a husky/shepherd mix whom Ashlea loved. But who would have been very sad to be so big in our very small place. I could tell Ashlea was sad, because she loved the dog, but really, it wasn't a good fit. And we shrugged and said, eh, sure, why not?

Letters from the Waste Land: June 2007

http://whitneycox.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

Letters from the Waste Land. Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Please, take a camera phone pictoral tour of our new home! Ashlea welcomes you to our humble home! Apartment #309, as you can see, though you can't see in the picture that the frame surrounding the peephole is a little off-kilter. Behind her is the main room, a large bank of windows, and a whole buncha crap. The white mattress to the right is where the futon will go, as soon as we get a decent frame. Said main room, a little bit clearer. With our com...

Letters from the Waste Land: Painting the Pink Thing

http://whitneycox.blogspot.com/2007/07/painting-pink-thing.html

Letters from the Waste Land. Monday, July 9, 2007. Painting the Pink Thing. But first: my new address! 1030 Lancaster Ave., Unit #309. Rosemont, PA 19010. Now, the tale of my craftiness! Note: All pictures (except Exhibit B) were taken with my camera phone, which is a very nice phone, but which does not always capture colours correctly or have the best resolution. This rug is amazing. So we went last week, re-located the shop. It couldn't be disposed of, something we wanted holding up our TV, front and c...

Letters from the Waste Land: Keep your fingers crossed...

http://whitneycox.blogspot.com/2007/03/keep-your-fingers-crossed.html

Letters from the Waste Land. Thursday, March 22, 2007. Keep your fingers crossed. Because the place we looked at ( listing here. Looks awesome. We'll be sending off an application first thing tomorrow morning, since the very nice realtor told us she works on a first-come, first-serve basis. Insert cliche here about birds and worm-catching. Is also very, very nice - much bigger than where I am now. And they seemed a very friendly sort! And we could get a puppy! Posted by Whitney Cox. LOVE, Aunt J.

Letters from the Waste Land: Bad Reactions

http://whitneycox.blogspot.com/2007/03/bad-reactions.html

Letters from the Waste Land. Thursday, March 29, 2007. Four years in Massachusetts passed uneventufully as far as my respiratory system was concerned. The snow melted, everything burst into bloom, and my attention stayed focused largely on the wonder and glory of that phenomenon of seasons. There's four of 'em! My first New Jersey spring, too, came and went merrily, if a bit earlier in the year. Gosh, said Ashlea, that sounds like you have allergies! But I do know that spring's barely. Started up here - ...

Letters from the Waste Land: It's the Blue Screen of Death for me!

http://whitneycox.blogspot.com/2007/04/its-blue-screen-of-death-for-me.html

Letters from the Waste Land. Wednesday, April 25, 2007. It's the Blue Screen of Death for me! This morning, my laptop sang a little song to me. It went like this:. Thunk* *thunk* *THUNK THUNK* *bluescreen*. Huh, I said to my computer, which is nearly four years old and has been giving me fits since the day it landed in my hands, that's a funny little song to sing to me! You must be in something of a mood this morning. Let me reboot you and see what that does! It makes you sing the little song again!

Brad and Elizabeth's Indian Adventure. Journey with us to the land of saffron, silk and Shiva. Monday, February 19, 2007. Brad and Elizabeth's Indian Adventure. Journey with us to the land of saffron, silk and Shiva. Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Yesterday, Chavez forced the closure of Venezuela's most popular TV channel, RCTV, denouncing the 53-year-old station as a " permanent attack on public morals. During his announcement of the closure, he said, "Sound the alarm in the hills, neighborhoods and towns to defend our revolution from this new fascist attack." Which attack would that be, exactly? Who, precisely, is the fascist?

http://bannons.blogspot.com/2007/08/strange-reactions.html

Brad and Elizabeth's Indian Adventure. Journey with us to the land of saffron, silk and Shiva. Monday, August 13, 2007. It's strange, the things that remind me of home. We had a party over the weekend to celebrate our niece's marriage in the US. (Go Chelsea and Shawn! While preparing, I found myself thinking that I was preparing for a Thanksgiving feast at our house in New Jersey. I had to remind myself, actively remind myself, that I was not. Brad and Elizabeth's Indian Adventure. Journey with us to the land of saffron, silk and Shiva. Wednesday, December 12, 2007. Turning Indian, I Think I'm Turning Indian, I Really Think So. Now I want to be clear about the difference between how I would listen in on a fight in the US versus this one. In the US, if one were to hear a fight going on, they would of course take notice. One may even come up with some sort of ruse to move a bit closer. However, to be caught. If you're going to get in an argument...
