http://timsfertileturtles.blogspot.com/2012/05/turtle-camp-2012-25th-year.html
Saturday, May 19, 2012. What is Turtle Camp? 25 years ago, a PhD student from the University of Chicago was looking for a place to find Painted Turtle eggs for a science experiment. Somebody suggested heading to a Sand Prairie along the Mississippi River, near Thomson, IL. As he was camping nearby on a nearby island, he noticed turtles seemed to love nesting right in there in the campsite! Who is the Turtle Camp research team? What to expect by following along? Tim's Fertile Turtles: Lots of Lizards, big and small
http://timsfertileturtles.blogspot.com/2012/10/lots-of-lizards-big-and-small.html
Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Lots of Lizards, big and small. We have been catching lizards for four days now, and we have nearly eclipsed the 500 lizard mark! That is a ton of lizards, even for us! There are several reasons we are having such lizard catching success. Overall, the populations have established very well and are growing. But another important factor is the time of year. Last time we came in April just before the reproductive season. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Tim's Fertile Turtles: Anole eating anole!
http://timsfertileturtles.blogspot.com/2012/10/anole-eating-anole.html
Thursday, October 4, 2012. Today we had another first for the Lizard Project. While on island H capturing lizards, we found a green anole eating a brown anole. While other people had previously observed this happening, we had not seen this on our islands, until today. February 4, 2013 at 8:05 PM. How long did it take for the Green Anole to eat the other one? February 5, 2013 at 6:07 AM. It was a big meal. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ames, Iowa, United States. View my complete profile.
