My trip to Africa: Days 6 and 7- Fort Portal
http://generallimelight.blogspot.com/2008/06/days-6-and-7-fort-portal.html
My trip to Africa. Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Days 6 and 7- Fort Portal. It was about a six hour drive there and back, which is terrible. I've probably spent more time on busses and planes than I have in villages, but I suppose I don't have any power over that. I was actually looking to talk to Melody last night; but it seems they got sick of waiting and went to bed at normal human being time, unlike the rest of us. I'll talk to her later. Mostly, I am overwhelmed. The people have what it is I need. Not jus...

http://generallimelight.blogspot.com/2008/06/days-4-and-5-free-day-and-namyoya.html
My trip to Africa. Sunday, June 22, 2008. Days 4 and 5- Free day and Namyoya. Another exhausting couple of days. Wow! Not just exhausting physically, but emotionally. Even mentally. It's absolutely incredible here, don't get me wrong, but it's just so different. Case in point, the free day yesterday. The high point of the day was visiting the shops. The first place we went to was called National Theatre, and it was a sort of Marketplace. So, I got to barter! And, today we went to Namyoya for church and t...

Michelle Boice: Bus Accident
http://michelle-d-boice.blogspot.com/2008/06/bus-accident.html
Be the Change You Want to See in the World" - Ghandi. Monday, June 30, 2008. Debbie heard her, and got the group's attention. Renata and I rushed to the back of the bus. We got the bus to stop (the road was terribly bumpy as all roads here are) and tried to assess what was wrong. Clearly, we had to get to the hospital ASAP. but traffic was a nightmare and we were at least an hour away. Gene, Renata and I put her on the backboard ourselves because these people didn't have a clue. It did get somewhat bette...
