Côtes de Provence Réserve. This is the top red from the Jules family aged 12 months in oak barrels. It is muscular yet elegant and will improve with ageing. Rocky and limy clay with southern exposure at 160 meters altitude. 2004 was especially hot and dry with naturally low yields. Cabernet Sauvignon 90% Syrah 10% (30 year old vines planted at 4000 vines per ha). Mechanically with yields of 30 hl per ha. In fine grain, French oak barrels for 12 months. Roasted red meat on pepper sauce, venison.

Rocky and limy clay with southern exposure between 160-200 meters altitude. 2012 is an unusual vintage. After a relatively mild autumn, the spring was colder than usual, and disturbed by an episode of hail which slowed the maturation process, while allowing an expressive vintage. The Chardonnay and Semillon ripen early in this region but thanks to a relatively cool summer end in 2010, the maturation was longer, thus helping to develop complex aromas and a balanced acidity. Chardonnay 70%, Semillon 30% planted at 4000 vines per hectare. Grilled fish, chicken wings.
