The Slapdash Godliness of a Good Girl: Updates!
http://slapdashgal.blogspot.com/2010/07/updates.html
Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Oh, my poor, dormant blog! What an eventful year-plus it has been since my last entry. The headlines:. I am engaged to a fantastic man and we're getting married in October. :). I am still, well, I suppose "agnostic" is the best description. My fiance is not agnostic, though he would say he's a "deist" more than a Christian. We are having a Jewish chaplain friend of his marry us. We haven't told our parents yet (mine: Protestant; his: Catholic). Tuesday, July 27, 2010 12:14:00 PM.

Find and Ye Shall Seek: God is naughtier than sex
http://mysticalseeker.blogspot.com/2010/12/god-is-naughtier-than-sex.html
Find and Ye Shall Seek. A blog of mystical searches. God is naughtier than sex. As a followup to my recent post about how Americans feel a need to exaggerate their religiousness while Europeans are ashamed of their religiousness, I ran across this article. From the Danish national broadcast network's website. The original article is in Danish, although you can run it through Google Translate to get an English translation. Sigurd Barrett finds that Danes are reluctant, almost afraid of the Christian faith...

Find and Ye Shall Seek. A blog of mystical searches. From a soon-to-be-published book suggests that humans may construct the concept of God out of an innate human tendency to ascribe intentionality or consciousness to whatever we interact with in the world, even when there is clearly no consciousness behind it. I'm not sure that this is necessarily a novel idea. It is hardly news that religions have often anthropomorphized nature or otherwise assigned divinity to it (remember the Egyptian sun god Ra?

Find and Ye Shall Seek: Conceptions of the Bible
http://mysticalseeker.blogspot.com/2011/01/conceptions-of-bible.html
Find and Ye Shall Seek. A blog of mystical searches. Conceptions of the Bible. Rev Candace Chellew-Hodge, a UCC pastor and author of the book Bulletproof Faith: A Spiritual Survival Guide for Gay and Lesbian Christians. Has written an article. For the Huffington Post. For one thing, she points out (correctly) that the Bible was written in a particular time and place in history and correspondingly reflects an often mistaken pre-scientific cosmological worldview:. Posted by Mystical Seeker. It seems to me ...

A Christian’s concern with Atheism. May 2, 2007 at 9:14 am. One of the great successes of this blog has been the many comments we receive. In less than 2 months, we’ve had over 750 comments. Here’s a comment by. I’d like to highlight for your, you guessed it, comments. To read a history of science is to really understand that while we can marvel at the advances science has made, we would be wise to not just accept everything blindly. String Theory? Looking at the world without religion. Bring on the wonder–bring it on. Feb 23, 2015. Feb 23, 2015. Feb 26, 2015. When I first read this my first thought was: We’ve come full circle. Me speaking up in a comment to a question you asked at Agnostic Mom’s blog, saying essentially, ‘It gets better.’ And you now saying on your own blog, “It’s Time.”. Are you finished here? Sep 02, 2015. Wow Thought I’d responded to you. Sorry! Sep 02, 2015. Oct 26, 2015. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Looking at the world without religion. What’s the Harm? As soon as the news of the miracle went out on facebook, the thanks and praise began: God is so good, so merciful, the answerer of prayers, the performer of miracles. The Christian community had been praying for days after young Jacob was found unresponsive in the family pool. The doctors said that it would take a miracle to save him and it appeared that God had performed one. What the holy f*ck? Let’s see, this Jesus did the worst possible thing he...

Looking at the world without religion. Shoot me down, but I won’t Fall. I was trying to decide which song I wanted to post first and decided on this one. I prefer the EDM version, but for this post, I think this video is better. It’s not really on the unrequited love theme, but definitely love lost friend and family love. Thankfully, I kept running–in a zigzag pattern, of course, as to survive. I’m bullet proof, nothing to lose. Mar 31, 2014. So glad for you that you’ve become bullet-proof! Mar 31, 2014.
