Write in Sydney

Trying to find home while writing halfway around the world. Monday, April 4, 2011. The undulating calls of gibbons. Ushered me into my last day in Malaysia. Bob, Jim, and I left early to try the canopy walk. The three of us are fairly fit, and I thought we were walking at a fast pace, but suddenly two Malaysian boys sped past without a drop of sweat on their brows, politely leaving our dignity in the mud. We finally reached a series of steps to the head of the canopy walk. High-pitched cries echoed f...

Write in Sydney: The Tiger Sleeps Tonight . . .

http://writeinsydney.blogspot.com/2011/03/tiger-sleeps-tonight.html

Trying to find home while writing halfway around the world. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. The Tiger Sleeps Tonight . . . At least that’s my theory as to why we didn’t see one our last night in Malaysia. Bob, Jim, and I took a night hike with a local guide and stumbled across a couple fornicating in the jungle. He was stickin it to her. 8220;Sorry, where is it? 8221; I asked. 8220;There,” answered the guide, apparently pointing again in the correct direction. There's more than one spider in this photo).

Trying to find home while writing halfway around the world. Sunday, February 21, 2010. Year of the Tiger. Even though that's a picture of a rooster). 6:30 pm The sun is shading the fig trees in dappled brilliance, St. Mary's Cathedral looms over the lushness of Hyde Park, and a dozen Chinese performers are trying to say, "Happy New Year" in sync. Suddenly, a red-ribboned dragon rises from the ground to dance tauntingly around the Archibald Fountain, while men dressed in black gis kick and punch the air.

Write in Sydney: November 2009

http://writeinsydney.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Trying to find home while writing halfway around the world. Tuesday, November 10, 2009. The Story of Clyde, part 1. West of the shores of Sydney, trains make their slow progress through Clyde Station. Commuters flock the platform in the morning, and exhale upon reaching it at the end of the day. Littering the platform with rubbish, they part with brisk steps to make their way home. Wednesday, November 4, 2009. I never face the camera. I have always been camera shy, but I didn't realize I was this bad...

Tales from 1 Ditch Creek Road. Thursday, October 9, 2008. Snow falling on Aspens. Today was the FIRST snowfall in Kelly, Wyoming. So, we donned our gear and headed out into the white stuff. This early snowfall inspired my to write a list.YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN A CABIN IN THE MOUNTAINS OF WESTERN WYOMING WHEN. Tales from 1 Ditch Creek Road. Wednesday, November 12, 2008. So, here is what I wrote sometime at the beginning of November and never quite finished. As much as I like the grasses and berries that grow right outside my cabin door, I am most intrigued by the wildlife that roams the mountains, conifer and aspen forests and sage flats of the Teton Valley. Daily my life is impacted by the wildlife that surrounds me. I'd like to introduce you to a few of the animals who share my home. BUGLES IN THE NIGHT.
