Revelations | Transient Journeys

Revelstoke, of course. Is Revelstoke the perfect mountain? Why is this so? Why not centre the village around the mid-station, so that one never needs to experience the terrifyingly bad snow leading down to the base? By Mike Gardiner on March 30, 2011. Lost Inside the Beltway | Transient Journeys

Lost Inside the Beltway. Now, allow me for one moment to channel my inner geek. You see, upon our arrival on the vast paddock of National Mall, I realised I found certain things familiar the imposing, flanking museums on either side, the silhouette of Capital Hill staring proudly across the wide expanse of green at the Washington Monument, the vague outline of the Lincoln Memorial in the hazy and foggy distance. How could this be? Ahh, the White House. . Let me just say that this was. So, don’t take my a...

Lines | & Other Demons
https://otherdemons.wordpress.com/2010/08/14/lines
Twentysomething. Useless degree, fuzzy dog, wanderlust. I remember, distinctly, the permanent fine lines just below the outside corners of his eyes. They were deeper when he laughed, but they were always there, lingering reminders of previous joys. I looked at my own eyes under the dim and florescent dorm and saw no trace of those small lines unless I was actively smiling. I started looking for those lines near his eyes, soon grew to love them. Ascensions | Transient Journeys

Skiers and snowboarders are already a divided lot, and one group rarely needs a good excuse to proclaim their superiority over the other. Fashion, style, safety, form it’s all fair game and hotly debated. As a snowboarder though, I will grudgingly concede that there is one argument that will never be won, simply because we of the snowboarding variety have no leg to stand on that of the T-Bar lift. Fine they just sit side by side as they calmly discuss their shares and stocks. Posted in Big White. You are...

Monoliths | Transient Journeys
https://mickgardiner1.wordpress.com/2010/11/20/monoliths
The loop we drove took in most of the major sightseeing spots, with the obligatory hawkers perched under tarps advertising their wares – certainly a tough way to make a living. We also passed a few horse ranches and small Navajo houses along the seventeen mile track. By Mike Gardiner on November 20, 2010. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
