Your Mom Is Strange: The Sweet Taste of Defeat
http://yourmomisstrange.blogspot.com/2011/12/sweet-taste-of-defeat.html
Friday, December 30, 2011. The Sweet Taste of Defeat. I put on my game face. and hat, gloves, scarf, and boots. I bundled the baby belly in a big sweater, and reminded myself that we were two strong women who could brave a Vermont winter and every thing it had to throw at us. The cold air hit me as I opened the front door of our apartment building, and I have to admit, it was invigorating! I felt so free in that moment and decided that once I was out, I would go everywhere! Ugh, awkward. I quickly we...

Your Mom Is Strange: August 2014

Friday, August 29, 2014. Baby Doll Parenting Fail. No one told me, when I signed on for this parenting thing, that I would also be the sole caregiver and legal guardian of two plastic baby dolls. one of which has faulty wiring and cries all the time. Ellie rushed to her rescue. I had to act equally horrified, make crying noises, shush her, and rock her. I looked up to see Mark frowning at me. "We better wait awhile before we try for a second." he said. Me: Clifford went to the firehouse. In other news, t...

Your Mom Is Strange: June 2014
http://yourmomisstrange.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2014. E listened really well this weekend, and I listened too. We ended the weekend with a treat - sharing a frozen yogurt at Yogurt City! Had to add some doodles, too! This Monday is really overwhelming me. I have so much to do just this morning, but I had to take a quick break to just write. Maybe a little time-out will help. I explained that it was a carnival with rides. She replied, "For me! Um, well, yeah.". She insisted on driving the train! Let's take a look," she said. Luckily th...

Your Mom Is Strange: May 2014
http://yourmomisstrange.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 30, 2014. Smash Doodle Art Journals. I seem to sway back and forth between my artistic obsessions. One week, crochet. Next week, doodling. Then, writing, music, dancing, and anything in between. Anything can strike my fancy at any particular time. If only I could stick to one and find a lovely, unique, little niche for my blog (along with the mom stuff). That'd be nice. But that won't happen today, because today I'm back into Smash Books, Mixed-Media Journaling, and Doodling! It's been such a...

Your Mom Is Strange: April 2014
http://yourmomisstrange.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 30, 2014. So, I know I've been missing for a few days. E and I are fighting Mommy-Daughter colds/viruses. It's been quite an adventure spending two straight days inside with a cranky two-year-old who both wants me and hates me at the same time. My Facebook post from this morning sums up our current sick status:. 3:30am sinus explosion, and my voice is gone (I'm certain you needed to know this), but I'm ( happy) because I can actually breathe again. Hey, it's my turn! E and I have taken i...

Your Mom Is Strange: January 2015
http://yourmomisstrange.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 26, 2015. So, Mark was just diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. He'll have to be on a CPAP machine for the rest of his life. As I've begun noticing his symptoms more, I started paying closer attention to Ellie's sleep habits. Yep, she has it too. Her pediatrician is sending us to a specialist in Burlington on the 9th. Of course, aren't most 3-year-olds? And I've noticed some odd speech things developing, which could all be normal. We'll know more when we talk to the specialist. Freelance d...

Your Mom Is Strange: You Are My Sunshine
http://yourmomisstrange.blogspot.com/2015/03/you-are-my-sunshine.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. You Are My Sunshine. Wow, where have the last two months gone? Someday, my dear Ellie, I hope you will read this blog and not be disappointed that I took a 2-month blogging vacation this year. How do I sum up the last 2 months of being with my beautiful 3-year-old? I just can’t. I can’t capture every moment. And that’s okay. We lived them! And, oh the questions! Such beautiful questions you’ve asked me like, 1. “What’s a temper tantrum? And 2 “What’s a false alarm? 8220;Let’...

Your Mom Is Strange: Oh Goodness
http://yourmomisstrange.blogspot.com/2015/01/oh-goodness.html
Monday, January 19, 2015. Has it really been a full month? I've been dedicating lots of time to the art site. Freelance design work, and. oh yeah, raising a 3-year-old! She's the best, and we finally had our first official birthday party with friends and family. I can't tell you how much it meant to me, especially since we were all sick on birthdays 1 and 2. She's the best, and we had a great time! 2015 is going to be a great year! I still can't believe we'll be starting our 4th year here at YMIS! Mark a...

Your Mom Is Strange: October 2014
http://yourmomisstrange.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Well, I'm Back. My business trip to Minneapolis was great! I got to meet some wonderful people who I'll be working with shortly! The trip was filled with missed opportunities, missed connecting flights, missing my family, but I really couldn't complain. It was a vacation for this full-time working mama! I got to stay at nice hotels, expense my meals, and a last-minute flight cancellation meant that I got to check out the Mall of America. FaceTime with my family! We were all tir...
