Hot Vimto: March 2010

A blog about simple pleasures, and more complicated stuff as well. Respectfully dedicated to the delicious fruit beverage of my childhood. Wednesday, 24 March 2010. Cough*, sorry, to a manager, what is that's going on and why it matters. And of course, it is incredibly important for designers, who need to understand people's working practices well enough to create technology that serves its users, rather than slowing us down and getting in our way. Hot Vimto: October 2009
http://gordiehotvimto.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
A blog about simple pleasures, and more complicated stuff as well. Respectfully dedicated to the delicious fruit beverage of my childhood. Wednesday, 28 October 2009. When Two is Not Enough. This morning I feel afraid. I feel afraid of someone I haven't seen for a long, long time, who is no threat to me any more. Maybe I'm not afraid of the person so much as the fact that I tried and failed to get that person to respect my wishes and not hurt me. The subtle strategy doesn't work. Tuesday, 27 October 2009.

Short and sweet & sour: July 2010
http://shortandsweetandsour.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Short and sweet and sour. Short Intolerant. Prefers the company of dogs and small children. Loves chocolate. 01 July, 2010. Everything has been a bit of a whirlwind lately. There was the fuss of leaving the old job, starting the new job, inadequate packing for the UK trip (no shoes! And the hour and a half I spent on the floor of a Virgin Atlantic aeroplane looking after a man who was having a suspected heart attack at 35,000 feet in US airspace. But that's another story for another day.

Short and sweet & sour: Moving on
http://shortandsweetandsour.blogspot.com/2011/07/moving-on.html
Short and sweet and sour. Short Intolerant. Prefers the company of dogs and small children. Loves chocolate. 06 July, 2011. Regular readers of this blog - that's all five of you - might remember The Great Job Move of 2010, when I changed jobs and defected to the Hospital Next Door. Well, it's been just over a year and it's time to move again. And my patients. How can I leave them? The upside is getting to buy a work wardrobe! July 12, 2011 at 11:05 PM. Belated good wishes for a big change. View my comple...

Friday, January 26, 2007. Just a different class. When Andy Murray lost in five sets the other day much was made of his gallant display. He had taken the world number two all the way and at times made him look ordinary. People talked of grand slams. Now I took a slightly different view. Firstly he had lost the fifth set a little tamely as if, yet again, he was running out of gas AND just what sort of form was Nadal in? Monday, January 22, 2007. When I was a lad. At the moment there are 3 potential domest...

Sunday, March 02, 2008. Boxing is in an odd state. It is possible that Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield will get back in the ring again, 10 years ago this was an exciting fight but now? Its a circus show. Floyd Mayweather is considered the best pound for pound boxer on the planet. He has won world titles at five different weights he has beaten some big names and he recently ended the unbeaten record of Ricky Hatton. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Saturday, February 23, 2008. Its been a while! Perhaps the biggest story for UK sport has been the plans by the premiership to play an extra game overseas. Let me first say that I think this is fundamentaly wrong but inevitable. Historically clubs have been strongly linked with their local area. With the exception of the MK Dons/Wimbledon fiasco we have yet to see a move (well not in my life time). Football is not like American sports where teams are franchises. Fans need to understand that it is no long...
