Saskatchewan Lilies ....in progress: February 2012
http://saskatchewanlilies.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Saskatchewan Lilies .in progress. Saturday, February 4, 2012. Potted up the last of my 2011 harvested bulbs. Last fall I harvested some bulbs to preserve them as well as get them out of the way for some future planting. There are some showing shoot growth and a few with roots so it was time. Hopefully I can keep the room warm enough not to freeze and cool enough not to grow too much. Some of the bulbs are from seed which I purchased from Ray McNamara at Sparra's Nes. http://saskatchewanlilies.blogspot.com/2013/04/seedlings-in-drinking-glasses.html
Saskatchewan Lilies .in progress. Wednesday, April 3, 2013. Seedlings in drinking Glasses. Well I potted up at least 176 bulbs in plastic glasses to keep them alive as they started growing in the peat moss in bags in the refrigerator Some are growing very well already and others are still rooting. Here are some pictures. This is a Griesbach seedling looking very healthy. Some Narcissus at the very front of the picture. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Seedlings in drinking Glasses.

Rooftop botany goes to ground - my plant nursery: Glad All Over (well, soon, anyway)
http://theplantboy.blogspot.com/2012/10/glad-all-over-well-soon-anyway.html
Rooftop botany goes to ground - my plant nursery. The roof garden dream is over: but I've taken redundancy and I'm starting a plant nursery! Wednesday, 24 October 2012. Glad All Over (well, soon, anyway). I'm moving, to somewhere far more conducive to happiness. Just two of the many drawbacks of living next to infants, screeching being another. Harrrumph! The Rhodophiala (from seed) and Clematis (below) were unavailable for comment. Oh, do you like the new look by the way? Fuchsia 'Frans Hals' is an odd ...

Now, the Aril I showed you last time was either Heindahl or Jehosephat's Revenge. This is the one that the other one isn't. Well, I know which I'd rather have by. The bed( It fits in a vase. You've got a real fight on your hands, mate! See, It isn't just the other one with some heavy duty photoshopping! I've been secr...

Rooftop botany goes to ground - my plant nursery. The roof garden dream is over: but I've taken redundancy and I'm starting a plant nursery! Friday, 24 December 2010. This Used to be My Playground part 1. When I embarked on this project in September (the diary, not the roof garden), it was my intention to write about the bearded Irises I had been growing, and the Himalayan plants I have been in love with since long before I made the trip to the Tsari valley some 10 years ago. The very first things I grew...

Rooftop botany goes to ground - my plant nursery: Snow and seduction
http://theplantboy.blogspot.com/2010/11/snow.html
Rooftop botany goes to ground - my plant nursery. The roof garden dream is over: but I've taken redundancy and I'm starting a plant nursery! Tuesday, 30 November 2010. Well, the snow that has been creeping down Britain for the last week has finally reached the roof and it's a sorry sight. We had some hard frosts last week that didn't do any visible harm but an inch of snow and everything flops like a leaf that's had its cell walls destroyed by expanding ice. Douglasiana hybrids, ditto, and ungerminated p...
