Friday, July 22, 2011. I've been semi-obsessed with wild fennel since my first spotting. Once you have the flowers at home, dust the pollen off the flowers without ripping off too many of the buds. I took each flower between my thumb and forefinger and lightly rubbed them together, releasing the pollen onto a clean plate. The process was a bit time consuming and everyone has a different method for efficiently collecting the pollen. A few from Chowhound are here. Why go through all this trouble?
