Santi | An Exercise in Restraint

https://anexerciseinrestraint.wordpress.com/2012/11/29/santi

An Exercise in Restraint. Paloma was there when I got home. Everyday it was the same thing. I’d barely be through the door when I’d hear her say “Santi, is that you? 8221; A few seconds later she’d poke her head around the wall to see for herself. Once satisfied she revealed whatever weapon she’d chosen to protect herself with; tonight it was a spatula. “This place just isn’t safe” she’d say dismissively. November 29, 2012 at 5:30 AM. My Brush with Terror: The Boston Bombings | An Exercise in Restraint

https://anexerciseinrestraint.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/the-boston-bombings-i-was-there

An Exercise in Restraint. My Brush with Terror: The Boston Bombings. It was the perfect set up. I left Flour a little earlier than normal to accommodate for the crowds and barricades– and it’s good I did because everything was blocked. A trek that usually takes about 10 minutes took me more than half an hour! What if the sky bridge was wired with explosives? We stayed on the street. SWAT and Army men were everywhere in full body armor and on high alert. Erin and I pressed forward. Enter your comment here.

For my grandfather. | An Exercise in Restraint

https://anexerciseinrestraint.wordpress.com/2013/02/19/for-my-grandfather

An Exercise in Restraint. He never explicitly revealed anything substantial about himself. And reading his letters certainly didn’t give me any sort of deep understanding of him– no “portrait of a man.” And as a preteen writing to an octogenarian and vice versa, I suppose I am grateful. But looking back now, I realize that gaining an intimate understanding of each other was never his full intent. And yet, even though my mother was my primary caregiver, my father has never been absent. I didn’t get ...

Exercise in Futility

Living the active outdoor atheist lifestyle. Tuesday, August 12, 2014. Ebola The Gay and Atheist Away. Via Right Wing Watch comes this report. Of a Christian wingnut named Rick Wiles, who has a radio program called Trunews. While I am sure I have heard of him before, nothing he said stuck in my memory. Well, I will certainly remember him now. On his program, Wiles said ". 8221; He then went on to say, among other things, “. I just looked a moment ago on his website. To see if perhaps there was a press re...

An Excercise in Narcissism

An Excercise in Narcissism. The ultimate form of narcissism is, in my humble opinion, creating an entire page just about yourself and then hoping that others will read it. Well, here I am, doing exactly that. Tuesday, April 7, 2009. If you thought we were saving the world, you missed something. Currently I am doing a lot of reading, and obviously not a lot of writing. One of the books I am reading right now I borrowed from my dad. It's called Confessions Of An Economic Hitman. Tuesday, September 9, 2008.

an exercise in politics | bringing PT and politics together

An exercise in politics. Bringing PT and politics together. New Perspectives, New Ideas. August 12, 2015. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted on here. Not that I grew tired of posting, but a lot of things were happening in my life. Between my last clinical rotation, studying for boards, graduating, and looking for a job, I had my days pretty filled. Good news though! And everything from new group UpDoc Media. For some of my favorites! So what do you think? Hope to hear from you soon! March 4, 2015.

an exercise in politics | bringing PT and politics together

An exercise in politics. Bringing PT and politics together. Federal Advocacy Forum Wrap-Up. April 27, 2016. For those who have not been involved with federal advocacy in the past, there were some big pieces of legislation we lobbied for specifically this year. Perhaps the biggest in terms of impact on physical therapy is legislation that would repeal the Medicare Therapy Cap. You know, that arbitrary dollar amount placed on rehab services that helped balance the budget in 1997? I would highly recommend e...

An Exercise in Spinning Yarn

Stories and gripings about exercise, dieting, life, and what it's been like learning to leave the love handles behind. Monday, January 5, 2015. Hey guys, hey guys, remember that time where it was almost the end of December and I was like, "Hey, I'm totally going to start my diet a little BEFORE the new year and lose some weight so my 'starting weight' for the year is lower! Do you remember that? Do ya do ya? Ha Haha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH no. It hurts, my friends. It hurts so, so mucho. I’m on ...

My Grateful Heart

An Exercise in Thankfulness. Monday, December 28, 2009. Today I am thankful for good books and my ability to read them. I am sad that there are people who do not know how to read. That makes me want to volunteer with a literacy program in the New Year. Posted by Stacy Fountain @ 11:38 PM. Sunday, December 27, 2009. Posted by Stacy Fountain @ 11:38 PM. An Exercise In Utility

Sunday, October 28, 2007. 40:00 : 5.5 miles. Easy run. Ran the Veteran's Day course in my new spikes- to break them in as well as get in some time on the course. It's quite the ankle breaker again, and it's helpful to practice some of the more technical sections before coming across the ravines, hidden logs, and micro-moguls at race pace. I should have a couple of workouts over the next week, so today was a nice way to get recovered and ready for them. Posted at 6:23 AM . Thursday, December 07, 2006.

An Exercise in Wasting Time

An Exercise in Wasting Time. Tuesday, 5 February 2013. We Done Gone Played Relics. So, Tuesday night, club night, what to do? The mission, chosen last minute, was 'Capture and Destroy', the Orcnar were gunning (or fisting? To destroy the altar of Mordheim (right of the central ruin in this pic) while capturing the fabled Chimney of Despair (just behind the Nuem force). The Nuem would be try their damnedest to stop the Orncar. Why? Who knows, they're just mysterious that way I suppose. Nice shoes, no feet!
