Because everyone needs dessert. Skip to primary content. Red Velvet Cupcakes with White Chocolate Frangelico Frosting. December 21, 2011. God bless the South and. Magazine for keeping it real with alcoholic desserts and lots of sugar, spice, and everything gum-achingly, teeth-stained-ly nice. 8221; I exclaimed, my mouth full of neon orange Chester, “thith lookths amathing! 8220;Damn, straight, kiddo,” said my dad. And so it was decided. Included, something which was annoying me since they were nowhere to...

Because everyone needs dessert. Skip to primary content. September 22, 2012. In my Clark Kent life I’m an editor and reporter for a small education news publication–a publication that just hit over 20K followers on Twitter and our CEO decided we should celebrate. Now, it’s also understood that whenever potluck is mentioned, Meris will be the one bringing the desserts. And not wanting to sully my reputation as a sugar addict, I made these Twitter cupcakes. Finally realizing I would have to whip out some o...

Because everyone needs dessert. Skip to primary content. A Very Baking Christmas. December 29, 2013. To begin with, I made strawberry cupcakes from a box with jar icing for my coworker, Little Jake, who says this is his favorite kind of cake and icing. Behold, my foray back into Betty Crocker [I couldn’t help it-had to make little star decorations]:. Next came the holiday cupcakes for my office:. Everything was made with either gum paste or stiff buttercream. And for the cream cheese frosting here. My me...

Because everyone needs dessert. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Newer posts →. July 30, 2013. Let’s be honest, no one eats lemon stuff in the winter, unless you live in the tropics and then, well, F- you. So to celebrate this especially global warming-friendly summer, I thought I’d make King Arthur Flour’s Pink Lemonade Cake. What’s also pretty cool is that the buttercream is quick and easy [that’s what she said] and uses King Arthur Flour’s Lemon Juice Powder. Makes around 6-7 double...

January 25, 2014. I’ve also recently come to appreciate the custard, whereas in my younger days I thought ‘why waste dessert on something that’s not cake? Well, custard is unpretentious, easy to make, and isn’t the monster of the classic horror movie, “The Blob.”. This burnt caramel custard, or pot de crème if you want t...

S’mores Treats « Well Dined
http://welldined.com/2014/03/smores-treats.html
I had recently been experimenting with Rice Krispies treats, and when I saw Golden Grahams at the store I immediately thought of making a s'mores treat. I wanted there to be bits of marshmallow and chocolate throughout (instead of all melted together). It ended up being super easy - cereal, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips bound together with melted marshmallow. S'mores any time of year, no matter the weather, and without the mess! Adapted from Elizabeth LeBau. Makes a 9x13 pan. In a large microwav...

Baking Things | Because everyone needs dessert
Because everyone needs dessert. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Burnt Caramel Custard (Pot de Crème). January 25, 2014. What initially attracted me to this dessert was the word ‘burnt,’ and that interests stems from 2 reasons: 1) Usually burnt is not a great descriptor for food, so I was intrigued; and 2) Holy sh*t is it cold out. If somethin’s gettin’ burned, somethin’s gettin’ hot, and I like that. It also has a super easy, 1-minute-to-make, fresh maple whipped cream topping. Oh...
