Broomstick Chronicles: Hanging with My Peeps at PCon
http://besom.blogspot.com/2015/02/hanging-with-my-peeps-at-pcon.html
Notes from the broomstick circuit - and beyond. Friday, February 20, 2015. Hanging with My Peeps at PCon. Don Frew, Macha, Richard Reidy of the Temple of Ra. This year’s PantheaCon nourished me. I printed out a schedule ahead of time of events on the official schedule, as distinct from the many programs being offered in various suites throughout the weekend, that I wanted to be sure to attend. I left plenty of space for serendipitous encounters. And the Pagan History Project. With which I’m involved.

For the eighth year, my local Marin Interfaith Council. Has held a prayer breakfast, produced by our sterling Director, the Rev. Carol Hovis. I note with disappointment that the National Day of Prayer Task Force. Which calls itself the Official Website. For National Day of Prayer. In part, is says:. Under "Who We Are," it says:. Broomstick Chronicles: May 2015
http://besom.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Notes from the broomstick circuit - and beyond. Thursday, May 14, 2015. Interfaith Celebration of National Day of Prayer. Much has been said about the National Prayer Breakfast that takes place in Washington, D.C. each May, critical that it is intended to foster a “Christian nation,” which the United States decidedly is not. For the past 16 years my own local interfaith group, Marin Interfaith Council, has produced an Interfaith Prayer Breakfast. I’ve described some past breakfasts here: 2007. JD, Execut...

Sage Alley: May 2015
http://sagealley.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 22, 2015. Brick Dust: Spring Brings Changes. Our beautiful sage bush. Spring brings change, and around here, there's a lot of change happening! While we don't live on an alley, we are in the suburbs, surrounded by concrete and asphalt and apathy. Our yard is tiny (though we do get a lot out of it! And traffic sounds are a constant. I also just like the way "Sage Alley" sounds as a writer. Just another afternoon at home. Also in are kohlrabi and beets. No tomatoes or peppers this year. We are ...
Sage Alley: July 2015
http://sagealley.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Brick Dust: Ceiling Prep, How I Am Holding Up. Holy chaos, Batman! This is the inside of our new ceiling. It looks kind of crazy, because electrical is just roughed in right now, but the fact is that our lighting is going to be kind of involved. (Recessed lights. Lots and lots of recessed lights! It's a good idea to do this when you're building, because when something goes wrong, it'll be easier to tell. To go back to work until August 1 or so. I have signed up with several te...
The Sunless Sea: Star Trek
http://paganmeghan.blogspot.com/2009/05/star-trek.html
Saturday, May 9, 2009. No spoilers were spawned in the writing of this blog. Christopher Pike always deserved better than once for yes and twice for no. The birth of James T. Kirk made me weep openly in a movie theatre. I have been and always shall be your friend. Tell my mother I feel fine. The Kobayashi Maru can be saved. Majel is and always will be the soulful voice of the Enterprise. Gene would have approved. Kirk is on his Enterprise, and all is right with the worlds. June 4, 2009 at 1:08 PM.
The Sunless Sea: Beltane '09
http://paganmeghan.blogspot.com/2009/05/beltane-09.html
Monday, May 4, 2009. The boy walked into class with a tie knotted around his neck. He dressed up to make his speech look better. Tommy was his name. He spoke haltingly, revealing shallow research and very little understanding. He spoke about Voudun. Voodoo. I smiled a smirk, I shifted in my seat. The snake in my spine uncoiled restlessly and I tasted the classroom air with my tongue. My, my. A giggle like soft silken bubbles and I can count the beats in his smile before it comes. What to do?

Sage Alley: January 2015
http://sagealley.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Brick Dust: Winter Update. First snow of 2015. Just some bits and scraps from the past few months. Life has definitely not been boring for us at the Little Stone House! Ultimately, our garden did not fare all that well this year. As I've said many times, I attribute it to the weather. That said, my partner has decided that we will not continue to grow tomatoes at our current location. The yield was down in 2013 and absolutely abysmal. Doing my twice-a-year raw cleanse this month...
Sage Alley: Beet Ravioli
http://sagealley.blogspot.com/2015/02/beet-ravioli.html
Friday, February 13, 2015. My version of the beet ravioli. This was my second attempt at raw cuisine, and let me tell you what: These blew the stuffed peppers away! This delicious recipe came from the book, Raw Food Real World. By Matthew Kenney and Sarma Melngailis. The filling and sauce provide tons. Of protein and good fats from nuts: cashews, pine nuts, and pistachios. This is the best cashew "cheese" I've tasted yet! Amazing, if you have the right recipes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sage Alley: December 2013
http://sagealley.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 5, 2013. Not the stray kitty. This is one of my cats, Fujiko. Fuji was rescued en route to a kill shelter in 2003.). Life is never dull at the Little Stone House. It's been a crazy year for my family, and we've got some kitty health drama (not serious and on its way out), and life just goes on! A few weeks ago, we had a friend over, and he pointed out that we had a black and white cat that seems to like to cut through our yard. This was over a month ago. A couple of weeks before. I app...

Broomstick Chronicles
Notes from the broomstick circuit - and beyond. Monday, March 12, 2018. Facts, Experiences, and Insights about Volunteering in Prison. I've been volunteering with the Wiccan circle at San Quentin, at their request, for the past five years. Their circle had done a spell to get a facilitator from outside, and I volunteered. I'm not Wiccan, but rather Witchen; however, Wicca is a term that's gaining recognition and credibility in government bureaucracies such as prisons, so I'm happy to go with it. Not too ...

Note: [1] A besom is a long handled broom with the head made out of pieces of twig lashed together. The conjecture is confirmed by the name thunder-besom which is applied to mistletoe in the Swiss canton of Aargau, for the epithet clearly implies a close connexion between the parasite and the thunder; indeed.
