Life with Maya: Growth spurt!
http://lifewithmayameron.blogspot.com/2009/07/growth-spurt.html
Thursday, 23 July 2009. We just did a wall measurement of Maya and she has grown 3/4 of an inch in one month to 38-3/4 inches! That puts her at 41st percentile for height - the highest she's ever been on the charts! She is now fitting into her 4T clothes! Guess we'll have to do some shopping in America this summer for 4T clothes! Now her size is coming close to meeting the measurements of her huge feet - size 11 and growing! Cindy where are pictures of Maya? I miss seeing her. 23 July 2009 at 16:03.

Life with Maya: June 2009
http://lifewithmayameron.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 17 June 2009. With swine flu on the loose in the American community in Egypt, everyone we know has been stocking up on Tamiflu just in case. Everyone except us, that is. Basically, if you are unlucky enough to get swine flu (now renamed H1N1) in Egypt, you get the pleasure of being quarantined in the Fever Hospital. That is apparently the only place authorised to hand out Tamiflu. And if this virus gets out of hand in Egypt, I'm not sure there's any guarantee we would get any.

I tried all day yesterday to start our childrens' lifebook, but only got around to gathering some facts and pictures of Ethiopia, and writing the opening lines. Saturday, July 15, 2006. In preparation for my upcoming trip to Thailand, I got in touch with a couple of travel medicine clinics to compare the prices for the impressive array of vaccines I'll be needing for both Thailand and Ethiopia. After doing some research, I decided to get the following vaccines:. I will be going back to get the meningitis shot as soon as it's available (apparently there is a manufacturing shortage which is making this vaccine slightly more difficult to come by). My wallet took th...

Life with Maya: September 2008
http://lifewithmayameron.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 17 September 2008. But it seems many Egyptians think you should push both ways and just get on the first elevator that comes. It's a total cultural clash! Sometimes, it can take half an hour one way to ride the elevator. Because you have to wait for about 3 elevators to crush yourself in, and then you stop on every floor. It's driving me crazy! Tuesday, 16 September 2008. Maya: Mommy, I have Amarinya (Amharic) feet and you have English feet. Me: Oh, really? Maya: (Smiles, stares into space).
