The scent of sage is omnipresent, chaparral always whipping in the wind, and the Anza-Borrego Desert is growing ever closer. We have come 109 miles and have hitched sort of sideways in Julian to get some infamous Apple Pie…. John Muir Trail 2006. I am participating in the Camp Sunrise Hike for Cancer, a fundraising program that supports Camp Sunrise. An American Cancer Society. Summer camp for children living with cancer. This year's Camp Sunrise Hike for Cancer event leads us to Rainier National Park for a 100 mile hike along the Wonderland Trail.
