http://rowlandsgillbirder.blogspot.com/2010/03/trip-up-coast-was-not-disappointing_05.html
Friday, 5 March 2010. A Trip Up the Coast was not Disappointing! Organised a day trip up the. With Ewan "The Useless" Miles. To go see some birdies. Ewan has gained this nickname as he is absolutely pants at organising. I mean he couldn't organise flies to fly round dog doo! Anyway set off mine at around 11am and headed for Longhirst Flash in hope of a lingering Bewick’s Swan. Arrived to find 36 Whooper Swan. On the fields behind the flash and in the foreground a Magpie. And a Carrion Crow. Were reported...

Saturday, 1 November 2014. Weekly Update: Arrivals and Battles. The unseasonably warm weather continues with temperatures reaching record levels for the end of October. Although workload has meant I have not spent as much time at Big Waters as I would like there were a few nice sightings and a few winter visitors arriving and even a little unusual behavior from the residents. It was nice to finally get a few hours away from work to see Alan and Dan, also to catch up on what I had missed since my last visit 2 weeks ago. More updates to follow soon. At the st...

Thursday, 23 October 2014. Weekly update: Rainbows and Wrens. This week has been interesting, both weather wise and with sightings at Big Waters. The usual suspects were in the feeding area and on the lake but a few less common visitors also made appearances. After a weekend in Bamburgh which yielded great photographs of treecreepers and great spotted woodpeckers my hopes of more photographs at Big Waters were high. READ THE FULL POST. Saturday, 12 January 2013. Just finished my dinner as I looked out of the dining room window to see this fella looking for his,he is quite a patient chap always allowing me time to get the camera from the bag ,open the back door and fire off a few frames. He was unlucky today as the Goldfinch gave him the slip. His new strategy now is to walk along the fence looking into the beech hedge to see who if any are hiding before going in after them. Wednesday, 9 January 2013. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
